UFC light heavyweight Aleksandar Rakic believes that former divisional rival Jon Jones should get paid more money to fight Francis Ngannou. Rakic, one of the best fighters in the UFC at 205lbs currently, is coming off of a decision win over Thiago Santos in his last fight, and he is widely expected to be just one or two fights away now from taking on UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Jones, of course, was the kingpin of the UFC’s 205lbs division for the last decade, but he is planning on moving up to heavyweight this summer. The plan was for him to fight Ngannou in a mega-fight, but Jones is currently involved in a public financial despite with the UFC.

Jan Blachowicz open to fighting Francis Ngannou at heavyweight

UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz says he is open to moving up to heavyweight and taking on champion Francis Ngannou. Blachowicz is coming off of his first successful title defense of the UFC’s 205lbs title when he defeated middleweight champion Israel Adesanya via unanimous decision at UFC 259. For his next fight, Blachowicz is expected to take on No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira. Having said that, Blachowicz is open to taking on another challenge if the UFC wants him to. Should Jon Jones not take the fight with Ngannou, then Blachowicz is open to taking it.

UFC 260 rankings update: Francis Ngannou enters top-five in P4P, Tyron Woodley continues to plummet

The UFC rankings have changed following UFC 260, with Francis Ngannou entering the top-five P4P rankings and Tyron Woodley dropping down. Ngannou brutally finished Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260 with punches in the second round to capture the UFC heavyweight title. Following the win, Ngannou jumped eight spots in the promotion’s pound-for-pound rankings. He’s all the way up at No. 5 in the world now after the victory, with Miocic slipping four spots in the rankings down to No. 7 overall. With Miocic moving down, both UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya moved up one spot each. Despite Jan Blachowicz beating Adesanya at UFC 259, he is ranked four spots lower at No. 8.

Mike Winkeljohn, the striking coach of UFC superstar Jon Jones, believes his pupil will score a late finish if he fights Francis Ngannou. Jones and Ngannou are primed to fight each other if “Bones” can come together financially on a deal with the UFC. If cooler heads can prevail and the UFC and Jones can work together, then this is the fight to make. If the Jones vs. Ngannou fight does happen, then there is no doubt in the mind of Winkeljohn that Jones can finish “The Predator” late.

Of course, Jones is currently involved in a public battle with UFC president Dana White over fighter pay, so it’s no sure thing that fight happens. But if you ask Ngannou, he wants the UFC to get the fight done because Jones is the man that he wants to see standing across the cage from him.

Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier came to the defense of longtime rival Jon Jones, saying he is not scared of fighting Francis Ngannou. Ngannou knocked out Cormier’s other rival Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260 this past weekend to capture the UFC heavyweight title. Following the fight, UFC president Dana White suggested that Jones should move down to 185lbs and that he’s scared of fighting Ngannou. Ever since then, Jones has taken to social media to vent his frustrations with the UFC and with White following his comments. Jones has gone on to say that he hopes that the UFC just releases him so that he can move on with his fighting career.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has released a statement following his second-round knockout loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260. Miocic suffered a brutal second-round KO loss to Ngannou in the pair’s rematch, which headlined this past Saturday’s UFC 260 pay-per-view card. Following the loss, Miocic has now taken to social media to release a lengthy statement. In it, he congratulated Ngannou on the victory and said he will be taking some time off to recover. In the main event of UFC 260, Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic had their rematch three years in the making for the heavyweight title. Miocic entered the fight coming off of his trilogy fight against Daniel Cormier to reclaim and defend his heavyweight title. He also dominated Ngannou for five rounds using his wrestling to win the fight. Ngannou, meanwhile, was on a four-fight winning streak with all four wins coming by first-round KO and the longest fight going 71 seconds.

Ngannou knocked out Miocic in brutal fashion in the second round of their UFC 260 main event title fight. The Cameroon-born Ngannou showed incredible punching power once again against Miocic, but he also showed terrific wrestling as well as he put together the most complete performance of his UFC career and got the job done. It was an absolutely phenomenal victory for Ngannou, who finally becomes the UFC heavyweight champion six years into his career with the world’s leading MMA promotion. It was a great win for “The Predator” and it was the kind of victory that sent him hometown fans into a frenzy.

Not long ago, Jones made the decision to vacate the belt and make the move up to heavyweight. Reyes, meanwhile, went on to fight Jan Blachowicz for the vacant belt at UFC 253 and lost the fight via TKO. However, that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to throw shots at Jones anytime he gets.
