Frank Mir set for retirement fight at UFL 3 in August on the same card his daughter Bella competes

Frank Mir has gotten his wish. Mir has been vocal about wanting his retirement fight to take place on the same card that his daughter Bella fights on. Well, United Fight League (UFL) announced on Brendan Schaub’s show that Mir will compete at UFL 3 against an opponent TBD. Bella will also compete on the card, with her opponent also yet to be revealed. Both fights have been agreed to for August 12 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has reacted to the controversial commentary work performed by Oscar de la Hoya during his boxing match. Mir fought Steve Cunningham in his professional boxing debut on the undercard of the Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul Triller Fight Club pay-per-view card on Saturday night. Although Mir put up a solid effort by going the distance against an opponent who had far more experience than he did, he still ended up getting the decision loss. But what more people were talking about besides Mir’s performance in the fight was de la Hoya’s commentary during it. It appeared as though de la Hoya was under the influence as he made a number of comments during the fight that led to fans taking to their social media to complain about the boxing legend.

Antonio Tarver will not be boxing Frank Mir on April 17. Tarver, the former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion, was set to fight for the first time since 2015. However, according to ESPN,  Tarver, 52, did not meet the requirements to compete put forth by the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission, per commission executive director Matt Woodruff.

Frank Mir reportedly signs with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship

Frank Mir announces Bellator release, open to fighting for KSW or returning to UFC as commentator

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir is now a free agent and is open to fighting for another promotion or getting behind the mic and doing commentary. This past October saw Mir snap a four-fight losing skid when he defeated Roy Nelson via decision at Bellator 231. It was his first win since July 2015 and it couldn’t have come at a better time as it helped him avoid a dreaded five-fight losing skid. Mir was still under contract with Bellator and had one fight left on his deal after going 1-2 with the promotion, but the heavyweight legend said he’s come to a deal with Bellator to release him.
