Frank Mir has gotten his wish. Mir has been vocal about wanting his retirement fight to take place on the same card that his daughter Bella fights on. Well, United Fight League (UFL) announced on Brendan Schaub’s show that Mir will compete at UFL 3 against an opponent TBD. Bella will also compete on the card, with her opponent also yet to be revealed. Both fights have been agreed to for August 12 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The promotion announced in a press release that their Triad Combat card will go down in Arlington, Texas, and will have a ton of notable names. Frank Mir, Mike Perry, Matt Mitrione, and Kubrat Pulev have all been confirmed for the card. Metallica will also perform at the recent which will air live on pay-per-view.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has reacted to the controversial commentary work performed by Oscar de la Hoya during his boxing match. Mir fought Steve Cunningham in his professional boxing debut on the undercard of the Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul Triller Fight Club pay-per-view card on Saturday night. Although Mir put up a solid effort by going the distance against an opponent who had far more experience than he did, he still ended up getting the decision loss. But what more people were talking about besides Mir’s performance in the fight was de la Hoya’s commentary during it. It appeared as though de la Hoya was under the influence as he made a number of comments during the fight that led to fans taking to their social media to complain about the boxing legend.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir made his professional boxing debut against Steve Cunningham at tonight’s Triller: ‘Askren vs. Paul’ event. Mir (19-3 MMA) was originally slated to meet Antonio Tarver at tonight’s event, however the Georgia commission would not allow the former boxing champion to compete.

Originally, the former UFC heavyweight champion was set to fight Antonio Tarver, where he would’ve been at least 50-pounds heavier. However, the Georgia commission wouldn’t clear him and he was replaced by former IBF cruiserweight champion, Steve Cunningham.

Frank Mir knows he doesn’t have much longer in his career. The former UFC heavyweight champion is 41-years-old and is set to turn 42, isn’t putting a timeline on his retirement. Mir admits three years ago when he was in Bellator, he wanted to retire, but after taking care of his body, he says he’s in really good shape and isn’t sure when he will retire now.

According to Frank Mir, he says he tried to talk his daughter out of being a fighter due to how little fighters make. However, after some time, he liked the idea of her following in his footsteps and after two wins, Mir is confident she has what it takes to be a world champion one day.

Frank Mir was preparing to make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut in early 2021 when he got a call to make his boxing debut. Originally, Mir was set to fight Antonio Tarver in the co-main event to Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul. However, the Georgia Commission wouldn’t clear Tarver, so Mir is now set to face Steve Cunningham. Although it is a change of opponent, Mir is still excited at the opportunity of making his pro boxing debut.

Antonio Tarver will not be boxing Frank Mir on April 17. Tarver, the former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion, was set to fight for the first time since 2015. However, according to ESPN,  Tarver, 52, did not meet the requirements to compete put forth by the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission, per commission executive director Matt Woodruff.

Frank Mir issued a bold win-or-lose prediction for his upcoming boxing match with Antonio Tarver, saying that “he’s leaving on a stretcher.” Mir makes his professional boxing debut on April 17 on the undercard of the Triller boxing PPV featuring Jake Paul and Ben Askren in the main event. The former UFC heavyweight champion will take on Tarver, the former boxing great who will be returning from a six-year layoff to take on Mir. It’s a big fight between the former UFC champion and the former boxing world champion, and now Mir is issuing a bold prediction about what will happen.

Frank Mir is set to make his boxing debut on April 17. Mir, the former UFC heavyweight champion, has not competed in MMA since October of 2019 when he beat Roy Nelson by decision in Bellator. Mir then became a free agent and there was some talk of him joining BKFC.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir trashed ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith for the controversial comments he made about women competing in MMA. Mir was not happy with Smith’s recent anti-women’s MMA comments when the ESPN talking head controversially said that women had no business being in the Octagon. A number of fighters have since taken to social media to post their disagreements with Smith for his outlandish comments. One of those fighters is Mir, the former UFC heavyweight champion. Mir’s daughter Bella is one of the top women’s MMA prospects in the United States right now, so now wonder Mir wasn’t thrilled with what Smith had to say. Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has reportedly signed a deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). FightBananas.com was the first to report the signing of Mir to BKFC. Mir follows a long list of former UFC fighters such as Paige VanZant, Thiago Alves, and Hector Lombard who have taken their talents to BKFC recently. Take a look at the initial news report.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir is now a free agent and is open to fighting for another promotion or getting behind the mic and doing commentary. This past October saw Mir snap a four-fight losing skid when he defeated Roy Nelson via decision at Bellator 231. It was his first win since July 2015 and it couldn’t have come at a better time as it helped him avoid a dreaded five-fight losing skid. Mir was still under contract with Bellator and had one fight left on his deal after going 1-2 with the promotion, but the heavyweight legend said he’s come to a deal with Bellator to release him.
