Since Conor McGregor signed to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC 196 in the beginning of the year, which ultimately turned into a welterweight fight against Nate Diaz, there has been much speculation as to whether or not McGregor will return to featherweight. With McGregor vs. Diaz II set for UFC 202 in August, and Frankie Edgar vs. Jose Aldo II set for UFC 200 for the interim featherweight championship, Frankie Edgar has been ver open about his belief that McGregor will not return to featherweight.

Frankie “The Answer” Edgar has a big fight coming up at UFC 200 as he is set to rematch Jose Aldo for the interim featherweight title. Edgar’s coach Mark Henry startled a lot of fight fans with his message he posted on Instagram on Monday. Henry said, “Apologize to fans UFC 200 EDGAR vs ALDO fight MIGHT be OFF @frankieedgar was tested today by USADA and tested positive!! Substances found in blood – TOUGHNESS – SPEED – RESILIENCE – POWER – GRIT – HEART – DETERMINATION & IRON. Sorry again.”

Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has been criticized quite a bit for backing out of fights with injuries. Most recently, Aldo backed out of his title fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 189, and was replaced by Chad Mendes. With a false rumor surfacing earlier this week that Aldo was injured and unable to fight Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight championship at UFC 200 on July 9th, Edgar decided to poke some fun at the former champ in an interview with Fox Sports:

When it comes to UFC featherweight star Conor McGregor, one thing is certain, you never know what he’s going to do next. After winning the UFC featherweight championship in December at UFC 194 by knocking out Jose Aldo, McGregor looked to move up to lightweight to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight championship. When Rafael dos Anjos backed out of the fight with a broken foot, McGregor accepted a short-notice fight at welterweight against Nate Diaz.
