Freddie Haggerty vows to stop Jordan Estupinan at ONE 170

British striker Freddie Haggerty wants to start 2025 the same way he finished 2024 – with another knockout win.

The 20-year-old meets Colombian newcomer Jordan Estupinan at ONE 170 on Friday, January 24, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s sold-out Impact Arena in flyweight Muay Thai action.

While Haggerty plans to keep his momentum rolling, his opponent is something of an anomaly. The youngster hasn’t been able to find much footage of Estupinan in order to properly prepare.

However, the Englishman is unfazed by this. He’s confident in his ability to handle the task. And he’s more than willing to adapt on the fly in order to secure a fourth consecutive knockout.

“We’re always very well-prepared. There isn’t much to see of [Estupinan] online, which isn’t great. But Jordan and Johan are twin brothers with the same trainer, so I don’t see them fighting much different. But I’m a fighter. I’ll adapt no matter what. I’ll be ready,” he said.

“I think I’ll stop him. I’ll wear him down in the first and find the opportunity in the second round to stop him.”

Freddie Haggerty foresees winning main roster contract

British star Freddie Haggerty believes he has more to lose at ONE 170 than his counterpart Jordan Estupinan.

Haggerty has spent the last 12 months climbing the ladder toward a ONE Championship contract worth U$100,000. He’s earned three knockouts in as many outings.

So with momentum gained, he believes there’s more pressure on him to win than his debuting opponent.

“If I go in there and make a huge statement and wipe Estupinan out, I believe I should get a contract. Purely because I’ve taken the fight around six weeks after my last fight, one weight above, on a huge show,” Haggerty said.

“It’s a bigger risk for me too because it’s his debut. Whereas if I lose, do I have to go back to ONE Friday Fights and work my way back up? I don’t want to do that. I want to be on the big shows. The risk should pay off this time, and I should get the contract.”
