Gegard Mousasi discusses options for his next fight
Gegard Mousasi was able to exact revenge on Uriah Hall at yesterday’s UFC Fight Night 99 event in Belfast, Northern Ireland, scoring a first-round TKO victory over “Primetime” in the fight card’s main event.
Following his big victory, Gegard Mousasi spoke to media members about who he would like to fight next at the UFC Fight Night 99 post-fight press conference.
“Anderson Silva, Nick Diaz as a super fight, that’s a great fight for me; but to get to a title shot, maybe Luke Rockhold,” stated Mousasi during the UFC Belfast post-fight press conference. “It depends on UFC. If they give me top-10, top-15, No. 2, I’ll take the fight as long as they give me the next title shot. I’m ready to take on anyone.”
Mousasi has now won four-straight fights, scoring finishes in three of those four contests.
Gegard’s last loss came to the man he just defeated, Uriah Hall, which occured in September of 2015.
“The first fight, he won fair and square, I give credit to Uriah, he stepped up, he gave me a rematch,” said Mousasi.
“I have to respect that. He’s a nice guy. But this is behind me, I’m tired of that stupid highlight every time I see that stupid kick in my face. I’m tired of it so I can put it behind me. I’ll look forward to go for the title soon.”
