Georges St-Pierre: “I’m ready to go”
While it seems as though reports of former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre returning to the Octagon are always surfacing, ‘Rush’ has yet to officially return to the Octagon.
After Tyron Woodley defeated Robbie Lawler at UFC 201 to claim the UFC welterweight championship, he immediately called for a fight with St-Pierre, who seemed extremely willing to step back in the Octagon.
Despite that, GSP has not signed to return to the Octagon, leading many to wonder whether he will end his indefinite hiatus from MMA, or once again grace the Octagon.
He spoke about the situation in an interview with ESPN:
“Mentally, I’m ready to go. I have my agents. I put my cards on the table; now they’re going to talk to the new owner pretty soon. So we’ll have some news pretty soon. I know there are a lot of rumors, but we’re waiting to see what will happen.”
