Henry Cejudo’s split from coach Eric Albarracin looked “pre-planned,” says UFC veteran Matt Brown: “What their assumed plan was seemed to have worked”
UFC fan favorite Matt Brown is skeptical of the video showing Henry Cejudo drop Eric Albarracin as his coach.
Cejudo stunned MMA fans when a video surfaced of him telling “Captain Eric” that he won’t be including him for his UFC 298 bantamweight clash with Merab Dvalishvili. Despite having great success under the mentorship of Albarracin, including champ-champ status, “Triple C” feels he’s in a do or die situation with his pro MMA career. He has gone as far as to say he might retire if he can’t defeat Merab.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Henry Cejudo’s Meeting With Eric Albarracin Staged?
During the latest edition of MMAFighting.com‘s “The Fighter vs. The Writer,” Matt Brown told Damon Martin that he doesn’t feel what fans saw in that clip was the first time Eric Albarracin heard the news that Henry Cejudo was splitting from him.
“The way that Eric handled it, it seemed like it must have been pre-planned,” Brown said on the latest episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer. “Because I know if someone did that to me, I’d be like, ‘What b****, you can’t do this behind closed doors? What the f***?’ But he handled it very well and was very positive about it.
“That made me think they probably planned this out. They got us talking about it right now. What their assumed plan was seemed to have worked.”
Shortly after the video of Cejudo and Albarracin surfaced, Merab Dvalishvilli had some fun, showing a series of clips where he jokingly calls “Captain Eric” his new coach. Albarracin is seen laughing throughout the video, but insisted he won’t be giving Merab any secrets, and they have not actually linked up.
