Daniel Cormier blasts Henry Cejudo for training with Jon Jones, ‘Bones’ responds

Adam D Martin - November 14, 2021

UFC analyst Daniel Cormier blasted Henry Cejudo for training with Jon Jones, and “Bones” has responded to the criticism of his former rival. Jones was recently kicked out of Team Jackson-Wink following an alleged domestic battery incident at a hotel in Las Vegas following his Hall of Fame induction ceremony back in September ahead of UFC 266. With Jones no longer part of the team, at least until he cleans his act up, he has admitted that he is now looking into other gyms to potentially join, and one of those options appears to be Fight Ready. This past week, photos emerged of Jones training at the camp alongside the former UFC champion Cejudo and alongside UFC middleweight Eryk Anders as he looked to be enjoying Fight Ready. However, while Jones might like the move, there are others who do not like it.

Henry Cejudo wants Kamaru Usman to drop the ‘African pride’ and fight Israel Adesanya: “I just believe he has a perfect style to be Izzy”

Harry Kettle - November 9, 2021

Henry Cejudo has urged Kamaru Usman to put his friendship with Israel Adesanya aside and fight him at middleweight. At UFC 268, Kamaru Usman seemingly put an end to his rivalry with Colby Covington by beating “Chaos” for the second time. In early 2022, Israel Adesanya will attempt to successfully defend his UFC middleweight crown once again when he goes up against rival Robert Whittaker.

Henry Cejudo praises Weili Zhang following hard-fought loss at UFC 268

Adam Martin - November 7, 2021

Former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo praised Weili Zhang following her hard-fought loss in the main event at UFC 268 on Saturday night. Zhang had been training with Cejudo and the gang at Fight Ready MMA ahead of her UFC women’s strawweight title rematch against Rose Namajunas, which co-headlined UFC 268. One of the reasons Zhang switched her camp for this fight was because of the disastrous result of the first fight with Namajunas at UFC 261 that saw her lose via head kick KO.

Henry Cejudo declares Tyron Woodley the second cringiest fighter behind himself

Drake Riggs - October 18, 2021

Henry Cejudo is the self-proclaimed king of cringe… but every king needs a jester. Being in the public eye doesn’t come naturally to everyone as it can either be shunned or embraced in various fashions. For those like Cejudo (16-2), there’s the path of being as wacky as possible intentionally. In the former dual-division UFC champions’ mind, it’s even worse to be awkwardly self-unaware.

The pair initially met in December of 2020 at UFC 256, where after five rounds of thrilling action their fight was ruled a majority draw.

It would be an intriguing matchup and Volkanovski has said he wants to be active so the timing does work as Max Holloway is slated to fight Yair Rodriguez in November.

Daniel Cormier shares his thoughts on Henry Cejudo’s desire to become the UFC’s first ever three-division champion

Harry Kettle - October 7, 2021

Daniel Cormier has given his thoughts on Henry Cejudo’s potential shot at becoming the UFC’s first ever three-weight champion. There are a handful of fighters who have been able to call themselves two-weight world champions in the UFC and even fewer who have held the two belts at the same time. Cormier and Cejudo both fall into the latter of those categories, but neither has been able to turn the two straps into three.

Dana White

Adam D Martin - October 6, 2021

UFC president Dana White responded to Henry Cejudo’s recent request for a UFC featherweight title shot against Alexander Volkanovski. Volkanovski defeated Brian Ortega at UFC 266 last month to mark his latest title defense at 145lbs. Following the fight, Cejudo made it clear that he wants a piece of the champ. “The Messenger” has called out “The Great” in the past for a fight, but until now, White hasn’t taken his calls for the fight seriously. However, Cejudo said that he has a meeting with White this week to talk about the fight, and the UFC president admitted that the two will have a chat about the Volkanovski fight. However, White calls it “a tough conversation.”

Henry Cejudo on callout of UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski: “I ain’t no Georges St-Pierre”

Harry Kettle - October 5, 2021

Former two-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo has explained why he’s taking more of a risk by potentially challenging Alexander Volkanovski than when Georges St-Pierre went to middleweight. Cejudo is best known as “Triple C” thanks to his Olympic gold medal, bantamweight title and flyweight title successes throughout his combat sports career. Now, however, he wants to turn his nickname into “C4” by taking the 145-pound belt from current champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Drake Riggs - October 4, 2021

Henry Cejudo is feeling rather confident in his new training partner. Ahead of her upcoming title fight rematch with Rose Namajunas, former champion Zhang Weili has taken her talents to the U.S. where she’s training in Scottsdale. Aiding “Magnum” at the Fight Ready team along the way is none other than the former dual-division titlist in Cejudo.

Henry Cejudo calls for Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler trilogy fight

Adam Martin - October 3, 2021

Former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo called for the Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler trilogy fight following their recent rematch at UFC 266. Diaz and Lawler met in a middleweight bout at UFC 266 last month, and Lawler won the fight in the third round by TKO. It was a rematch 17 years in the making after the two previously met at UFC 47 in 2004, with Diaz winning that fight via knockout. All these years later and these two rivals met again, but this time with Lawler getting the better of Diaz and getting the finish. It was a good fight for as long as it lasted, and UFC president Dana White praised Diaz for his performance in the fight. But at the end of the day, Diaz lost the fight via TKO and it’s unknown if he has any interest in fighting in the UFC again.

Henry Cejudo confident he can finish Alexander Volkanovski, asks Dana White for 145lbs title shot

Adam D Martin - September 28, 2021

Henry Cejudo is confident he can finish UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, and he asked Dana White for a 145lbs title shot. Volkanovski defended his 145lbs belt against Brian Ortega this past weekend at UFC 266, and Cejudo has been going after the champ ever since on social media. In the past, Cejudo has made it known that he would be willing to move up to featherweight in a bid to become the first three-division champ in UFC history, but up until this point, he hasn’t moved up in weight. However, now that Volkanovski has defended his belt, Cejudo is now begging White to give him the opportunity to move up to featherweight and make history vs. the champ.

Henry Cejudo rips Alex Volkanovski following his win over Brian Ortega at UFC 266: "You almost got choked out by a Modelo model"

Christopher Taylor - September 26, 2021

Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo was clearly not impressed by Alex Volkanovski’s win over Brian Ortega at UFC 266. Volkanovski (23-1 MMA) squared off with Ortega (15-2 MMA) in the headliner of last night’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. The fight proved to be a thrilling five-round affair. Alex Volkanovski was able to get the better of Brian Ortega in rounds one and two. Then, in round three, ‘T-City’ stormed back and nearly finished the fight with a pair of submission attempts. However, ‘Alexander The Great’ would ultimately escape both of Ortega’s chokehold threats and went on to score a dominant decision victory.

Gable Steveson thanks former UFC champions Daniel Cormier and Henry Cejudo for recent praise

Adam D Martin - September 3, 2021

Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson thanked former UFC champions Daniel Cormier and Henry Cejudo for their recent praise of him. Steveson won the gold medal in Tokyo this summer in men’s freestyle wrestling (125kgs division). Not only did Steveson dominate the tournament with his powerful wrestling skills, but he also became a bit of a media sensation because of his look and personality. There are a lot of people who now believe that Steveson should make the move to either MMA or to WWE. Both of them would be natural transitions for Steveson, who would be following in the footsteps of other former Olympians such as Cejudo and Cormier, among others.

Khabib Nurmagomedov suggests next UFC opponent for Henry Cejudo must "bring some numbers" to the table

Adam D Martin - August 1, 2021

Former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov suggested that the next UFC opponent for Henry Cejudo must “bring some numbers” to the table. Nurmagomedov has been retired from MMA since earlier this year, and Cejudo has been retired since last summer. Both men hung up their gloves at the top of their games as both fighters were champions who vacated their titles before retiring from the sport. But with both men still in their 30s, there have been suggestions that the right fight could be enough to coax back either Nurmagomedov or Cejudo to the Octagon. Who that fight could be is anyone’s guess, but if the numbers are big enough, a comeback could be in store.

Adam D Martin - July 27, 2021

Former UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo explained why TJ Dillashaw deserved to win the decision over Cory Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 32. Sandhagen and Dillashaw went 25 hard minutes against each other in an incredible bantamweight bout that headlined this past Saturday’s UFC Vegas 32 card, but at the end of the five rounds, it was Dillashaw pulling off the upset win with a split decision. The fight was very close and there are many fans who are on the opposite side of the coin when it comes to deciding who should have earned the decision, but if you ask one of the division’s all-time greats in Cejudo, he believes Dillashaw did enough to rightfully earn the victory.
