He has proven himself as a top bantamweight contender by winning his four most recent fights including his last performance, a unanimous decision win over Pedro Munhoz.

Henry Cejudo and Valentina Shevchenko squash their beef

Natasha Hooper - September 5, 2019

One of the most bizarre MMA stories to come out of 2019 so far was Henry Cejudo’s call-out of Valentina Shevchenko. Cejudo called out the women’s flyweight champion, challenging her to an ‘inter-gender’ bout. The pair went at it for weeks on social media but couldn’t hide behind the Twitter veil when they came face to face in Abu Dhabi. The pair came face-to-face ahead of the UFC 242 card this weekend. They put their supposed beef to rest when they met backstage.

Dominick Cruz says 'UFC is pretty interested in booking' him against Henry Cejudo next

Cole Shelton - September 3, 2019

Henry Cejudo has called for a ‘tune-up’ fight with Dominick Cruz for his next bantamweight bout. The former UFC bantamweight champion, Cruz, has not fought since he lost the title to Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207. Since then injuries have kept him away from the Octagon. Yet, he says he should be cleared to fight soon and says the UFC is interested in giving him a title shot against Henry Cejudo when he returns.

Weili Zhang tells Henry Cejudo 'welcome to the female division'

Adam D Martin - September 1, 2019

New UFC women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang welcomed men’s flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo to the women’s divisions in a comical social media post. Cejudo has been calling out female fighters for the last month, with Valentina Shevchenko, Germaine de Randamie and now Zhang all getting called out on social media by “Triple C.” Zhang saw that Cejudo called her out and responded to him.

Henry Cejudo tells Germaine de Randamie to 'bend the knee'

Tom Taylor - August 30, 2019

Over the last few weeks, UFC flyweight and bantamweight champ Henry Cejudo has called out seemingly everybody on the UFC roster — Urijah Faber, Cody Garbrandt, Dominick Cruz, Amanda Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko, Jose Aldo, and Frankie Edgar to name a few. From the looks of it, he’s not done with the callouts yet. On Monday afternoon, on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, upcoming UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Germaine de Randamie recounted a boxing match she had against a heavier, male fighter in the early days of her career. Helwani then brought this story to the attention of Henry Cejudo — who clearly has no objection to calling out women — on Twitter.

Dana White: Henry Cejudo could be stripped of flyweight title

Tom Taylor - August 21, 2019

Over the last few months, UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo has hinted at bantamweight showdowns with stars like Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar, Urijah Faber, Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt. He has not, however, made any mention of plans to defend his UFC flyweight title. Perhaps he’s not that division’s savior after all.

Not long ago, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo hinted at an imminent weight class change. Contrary to his previous comments, however, he’s not floating a move to lightweight. Instead, he wants to drop to bantamweight and challenge the reigning champion Henry Cejudo for gold in that division. “I sat down with everybody, did a study, and I think there’s a real possibility I can make 61kg [135 pounds],” Aldo told Brazilian website Combate (via MMAFighting). “This is the new division I want to move to, and I’m asking for the title shot right away. That’s what matters for me now. Cejudo said he’s open to (fighting) anyone, so I’m open to that. I want the opportunity to fight against him and beat him.”

Jose Aldo is moving on from featherweight, wants another shot at UFC Gold

Chris Taylor - August 17, 2019

It is hard to imagine a scenario where mixed martial arts legend Jose Aldo would receive another shot at the UFC featherweight title. The longtime 145-pound kingpin, Aldo (28-5 MMA), has already suffered two TKO losses to reigning featherweight champion Max Holloway and most recently lost a unanimous decision to top division contender Alex Volkanovski.

Urijah Faber questions if Henry Cejudo is backing down

Fernando Quiles - August 14, 2019

Urijah Faber wonders whether or not Henry Cejudo truly wants to fight him. Back in June, Cejudo became a UFC “champ-champ.” He entered his UFC 238 headliner against Marlon Moraes as the flyweight champion. Once the smoke cleared, “Triple C” added the bantamweight gold to his mantle. After the fight, Cejudo called out the likes of Faber, Dominick Cruz, and Cody Garbrandt.
