Last night, the Octagon returned to Chicago, Illinois with the stacked UFC 238. There, two titles were on the line while Tony Ferguson was taking on Donald Cerrone in a key lightweight contender bout. Ultimately, Henry Cejudo became the fourth person to hold two UFC titles at the same time, as he TKO’d Marlon Moraes. In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko knocked out Jessica Eye with a head kick to retain her flyweight belt. And, Ferguson TKO’d Cerrone via doctor stoppage at the end of the second round.

Shortly after Henry Cejudo finished Marlon Moraes to become a two-division UFC champion, he laid out his “hit list,” naming three fighters he hopes to battle in the near future. Despite the emergence of new contenders like Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling, Cejudo said he’s hoping for bouts with former UFC bantamweight champs Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt, and Hall of Famer Urijah Faber. All of these fighters have already responded to the new bantamweight champ Henry Cejudo, and all three seem to up for it in theory.

In the main event of the stacked UFC 238 card, reigning UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo stepped up to the bantamweight division to battle streaking contender Marlon Moraes for the vacant title. The bantamweight title was left vacant when former champion TJ Dillashaw was stripped after testing positive for EPO.

Henry Cejudo put on quite a show at UFC 238 media day on Thursday (see it here). The flyweight champion arrived at the festivities wearing a crown and a cape, and when it came time for his pre-fight face-off with his opponent Marlon Moraes, clambered onto the stage with an armful of props. There was a Mickey Mouse toy, which Cejudo kicked into the crowd. There was a rubber snake, which the champ whipped at the ground. There was a plush rabbit, drawn from a top hat, which met a similar fate to its rodent cousin Mickey.

Henry Cejudo continues to come out of his shell. The UFC flyweight champion, who will battle Marlon Moraes for the vacant bantamweight strap in the UFC 238 main event this Saturday, showed up to Thursday’s media day dressed in a crown and cape, with plenty of other props to boot.

There were rumors floating around on social media in the days before UFC 238 that Henry Cejudo has been injured, which would put his vacant bantamweight title fight against Marlon Moraes on Saturday in jeopardy. Hearing info from a source who says he was in the #ufc workout room last night and #HenryCejudo may have been injured. At the recent UFC Seasonal Press Conference, which went down in Atlanta Georgia ahead of UFC 236, Marlon Moraes found himself on the receiving end of some of Cejudo’s trash talk. One of the more notable moments occurred when Cejudo said Moraes “looks like Mr. Clean and talks like Michael Jackson” (via MMA Junkie).

Speaking to the media backstage amid the UFC 236 festivities over the weekend, UFC flyweight champ Henry Cejudo divulged that he received warnings about his last opponent TJ Dillashaw’s performance enhancing drug use. “I’ve heard TJ, and I really never brought it up, he was on supposedly in the days prior to USADA, even Cody (Garbrandt), himself, was like, ‘Hey, watch out dude, he’s dirty,’” Cejudo explained (via MMA Junkie). “People would come up to me, and I never really brought it up because I thought that that part of MMA is over, but I think once you find out he’s on it, it’s like, this dude ain’t playing fair.”

Rather, the division stayed on, and headlining the first card of 2019 was a flyweight title fight. Although the fight was considered a ‘superfight’ given TJ Dillashaw was moving down in weight to take on Henry Cejudo.
