Despite these rumors, we’ve gotten zero clarity about the future of the division. Although the promotion has bushwhacked the flyweight roster, cutting multiple top fighters from Ulka Sasaki to Jose Torres to Ben Nguyen and now Dustin Ortiz and John Moraga, UFC President Dana White has expertly sidestepped all questions about the future division, somehow responding to questions without actually providing answers.

Previously, Henry Cejudo stated that he’d be interested in giving TJ Dillashaw an immediate rematch, however likely only at 135 pounds, for Dillashaw’s bantamweight title.

Yet having recently watched Dillashaw come up short in a flyweight title fight with Henry Cejudo — a fight he lost by first-round TKO — Moraes says he isn’t sure this fight is an opportunity Dillashaw deserves.
