Cris Cyborg Will Help Holly Holm Prepare Ahead Of UFC 300 Fight With Kayla Harrison
Cris Cyborg will be giving an assist to Holly Holm, who is preparing for a UFC 300 showdown with former PFL champion Kayla Harrison.
Cyborg and Holm shared the Octagon back in late 2017. At the time, Cyborg was the UFC women’s featherweight champion. On that night, Cyborg successfully retained the 145-pound gold via unanimous decision. Fast forward to 2024, and Cyborg is now helping “The Preacher’s Daughter” prepare for the big April 13 showdown with Harrison.
Cyborg believes she has a lot to offer Holm during preparation.
Cris Cyborg On How She Can Help Holly Holm
In a new video posted on her YouTube channel, Cris Cyborg revealed that she will be making the trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico to help Holly Holm train for the matchup with Kayla Harrison. The Bellator women’s featherweight champion is confident that she can be of great help to the former UFC women’s bantamweight titleholder (via MMAJunkie).
“I already have a date to go to Albuquerque – I’m very excited,” Cyborg said on her YouTube channel. “I talked to the team, talked to Holly – we’ve been studying Kayla for a little while already. I have been training for her already. I’m a superfan of Holly Holm. I think she’s a legend. She’s a big example for female fighters. (I’ll) be a part of her camp, and I think she’s going to come with a great victory. It’s going to be good.”
A victory for Holm might be her best chance at snagging yet another UFC title opportunity. Harrison is coming in with a ton of buzz, but there are also some question marks. Harrison has long competed as a 155-pounder, and now she’ll have to cut all the way down to 135 pounds. She feels confident in her ability to not only make the weight, but to thrive on fight night.
