Ian Machado Garry vows to make Geoff Neal “quit” at UFC 298: “He’ll choose when he’s done”
Ian Machado Garry is vowing to make Geoff Neal ‘quit’ at UFC 298.
UFC 298 takes place on Saturday, February 17th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Featured on the card is a welterweight bout between the undefeated Ian Machado Garry (13-0 MMA) and Geoff Neal (15-5 MMA).
Garry, 26, last fought and defeated Neil Magny (29-11 MMA) by unanimous decision last August at UFC 292. Since joining the UFC in 2021 Garry has soundly defeated all six of his opponents.
Neal, 33, is looking to get back in the win column after being defeated by Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0 MMA) in March of 2023 at UFC 285.
In a post to ‘Instagram’, Ian Machado Garry spoke about his upcoming fight with Neal saying (h/t MMAJunkie):
“What am I going to finish him with? I am going to make him quit. He’ll choose when he’s done. I’d like to kick him to the body and have him do that, when the dog’s sh*tting – the look when the dogs look at you, like, when they’re pooing, for protection. That’s what they do, right? Look at their owners when they’re pooing because that’s when they’re vulnerable for attack?”
Quite the analogy from the Irishman.
Garry and Neal were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 292 in August of last year, but Neal had to withdraw for undisclosed medical reasons. Garry went on to fight the 36-year-old Magny in his place.
