Invicta FC 13 Results: Jamie Moyle Picks Up The Split Decision In A Three Round War
The strawweights took the cage for the second fight of the night, when Amy Montenegro took on Jamie Moyle.
Montenegro came out and landed first, Moyle clinched right away and pushed the fight to the cage. Montenegro was able to reverse, but Moyle regained position, then they broke away and started throwing.
Moyle found a home for the right hand a few times consecutively. Moyle clinched and pushed the fight to the cage again. They took turns reversing, then Moyle got the trip and went for the back right away. Montenegro was able to defend and got free. Again Moyle got the fight down and ended up on top, in half guard. Moyle postured up and started landing nice punches. Moyle stayed on top until the very end, then the round ended.
In the second Moyle came out and was the aggressor, moving forward. Moyle landed a massive overhand right. Montenegro looked to land combos, while Moyle looked to land big shots. Moyle started to land leg kicks. Montenegro’s punches started finding a home, while Moyle kept landing leg kicks. Another big right hand lands for Moyle. They clinch briefly, then Moyle lands a big front body kick. Montenegro gets the clinch and pushes the fight to the cage. Moyle got the reverse on the cage. Montenegro was able to regain her position, but then lost it and Moyle went for a double leg and got it. Montenegro was able to get back to her feet, but ate a big punch doing so.
Both fighters came out firing in the third. Moyle lands a nice body kick. They clinch and Montenegro gets the double underhooks, pushes the fight to the cage. Montenegro kept the position for a while, then they broke away. Montenegro put Moyle in the clinch and landed several big knees. Moyle landed a few really big shots with less than a minute left. Both fighters went at it with ten seconds left. It was a really tough fight, could have went either way.
RESULT: Moyle wins via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
