In Brunson’s opinion, however, the hype surrounding Adesanya is way overblown. While Silva says he doesn’t know who Adesanya is, there’s another top middleweight who does: Derek Brunson. Derek Brunson recently took to Twitter to call for a fight with Israel Adesanya. He’s hoping to fight Adesanya at UFC 230 on November 3 in New York City — a card that will feature a trio of other, huge middleweight fights.

Given that they both picked up decisive wins over established UFC middleweights last weekend, many fans and pundits began calling for a matchup between them. Apparently, however, any potential fight between the pair is likely to occur later on.

And if he gets past the Hawaiian star, he plans on asking for another specific matchup: a fight with the winner of Uriah Hall and Paulo Costa’s fight, which goes down July 7 at UFC 226.

In the current UFC era, it’s been made loud and clear what the new ownership’s motives are: get rich or die tryin’. Well…maybe not to that extreme of a level but 50 Cent has been getting involved with the MMA scene lately(whatever that means) so don’t tell me that that’s not a good quote choice. Everybody loves a good hype train. Especially when it is natural, warranted and deserved. What don’t people love? A forced hype train. Thus begging the question, has the UFC been putting hype behind the wrong fighters?

Since then, he’s made no secret of the fact that he feels the fight should have gone his way. As it turns out, Vettori’s gripes don’t end with the UFC Glendale judges. He’s also got some lingering beef with Adesanya, and promises to slap the striking specialist next time he sees him.
