Photo | Jack Della Maddalena reveals he broke his arm during UFC 299 fight with Gilbert Burns
It has been revealed that Jack Della Maddalena broke his arm during UFC 299 fight with Gilbert Burns.
UFC 299 took place this past weekend and saw Jack Della Maddalena (17-2 MMA) in a welterweight bout with Gilbert Burns (22-7 MMA). The result was a KO victory at 3:43 of Round 3 for the Aussie (see that here).
Prior to the match-up ‘Durinho’ had lost to Belal Muhammad (23-3 MMA) in May of last year at UFC 288.
Della Maddalena has now won a perfect 7 in a row under the UFC banner.
With the win, Della Maddalena surged up the welterweight rankings from No. 11 to No. 5. Burns has now dropped down to No. 6 in the official UFC rankings.
ESPN MMA took to ‘X‘ with a photo of the x-rayed arm and the comment:

The x-ray shows a bad break in the ulna bone of Della Maddalena’s left forearm. It actually appears that his arm has been broken in two places.
Taking to ‘Instagram’, Tim Simpson, Della Maddalena’s manager, also shared that the fighter’s arm was broken early in the bout:
“Jack Della Maddalena’s arm snapped clean early in the fight. Rallied for a finish in the 3rd. P.S. Gilbert kicks hard!”
Quite the accomplishment to rally in the third and defeat Burns, while sporting a broken arm in the process.
At the post-fight press conference the Australian called out the undefeated Shavkat Rahkmonov (18-0 MMA).
But it will be first things first, as the 27-year-old fighter will have to heal and recover from the injury.
