Former UFC champion Jan Blachowicz announces second shoulder surgery: “It is what it is”
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has announced that he will have a second surgery on his shoulder.
At the age of 41, Jan Blachowicz is still seen as a contender in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. He’s lost just two of his last nine outings, with his most recent appearance being a tight split decision defeat to Alex Pereira. Following that bout, he was set for a rematch against Aleksandar Rakic, but he was forced to pull out as he required shoulder surgery.

Since then, fans have been wondering what’s next for the master of Polish Power. Now, in a statement on Instagram, Blachowicz has revealed that he’ll be going under the knife once again.
Blachowicz’s latest setback
“It is what it is …” Blachowicz posted on Instagram. “Going under the knife again. It’s time for the surgery of the other shoulder.
“I believe that MML Medical Center will reassemble me, and I would like to thank its boss here – Dr. Michal Michalik, who knows how to take care of a professional athlete, and his specialists perform genuine miracles.
“In just a moment, I am putting myself under the care of Dr. Damian Zaborowski. Doctor – let’s do this!
