Jan Blachowicz destroys Corey Anderson after claiming he's the world's best light heavyweight
Adam D Martin - October 18, 2021
UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz destroyed Corey Anderson after he claimed that he’s the world’s best light heavyweight. Blachowicz knocked out Anderson last February at UFC Rio Rancho in a title eliminator for former champion Jon Jones’ title. Following that fight, Jones gave up his belt and Blachowicz ended up fighting Dominick Reyes for the vacant title and won the belt with a TKO victory. Anderson, meanwhile, left the UFC to sign with Bellator and join the promotion’s 205lbs division. So far, Anderson has gone 3-0 in Bellator, and he is now one win away from winning the Bellator light heavyweight title and the $1 million for winning the Grand Prix. He has tons of confidence and believes he’s the best in the world now.
Corey Anderson predicts Glover Teixeira to dethrone Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267
Drake Riggs - October 15, 2021
PHOENIX — Corey Anderson is rather familiar with each fighter competing for the UFC light heavyweight crown at UFC 267 on Fight Island. The current Bellator 205-pound contender saw his last defeat come against the current titlist in Jan Blachowicz when squaring off in February 2020 – his final bout with the UFC. Two wins prior, Anderson scored a unanimous decision nod against Blachowicz’s upcoming challenger in Glover Teixeira.

Harry Kettle - October 13, 2021
UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has revealed that he wasn’t particularly surprised by the recent arrest of Jon Jones. Ever since Jones departed the 205-pound division, Jan Blachowicz has been the main man at the top of the mountain. He beat Dominick Reyes for the strap before successfully defending it against Israel Adesanya and at the end of this month, he’ll take his talents to Fight Island where he will defend the gold against fellow veteran Glover Teixeira.
Jan Blachowicz shares the most painful experience he has ever gone through in a fight
Adam D Martin - September 20, 2021
UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz shared the most painful experience he has ever gone through in a fight. Blachowicz, the UFC’s 205lbs champion, took to his social media on Sunday night to answer a series of questions from his fans during a Q&A session. One of the questions that a fan asked Blachowicz was about what the most painful shot he’s ever taken during a fight was. Considering Blachowicz has 36 professional MMA fights to his name, he has taken quite a few shots during his time in the cage. However, the champ said that it wasn’t a shot he took during an MMA fight, but one he took from a friend in Poland that hurt him the most.
Jan Blachowicz no longer pursuing a fight against Jon Jones
Adam D Martin - September 9, 2021
UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz admitted that he is no longer pursuing a fight against former divisional kingpin Jon Jones. Blachowicz knocked out Corey Anderson last February at UFC Rio Rancho, and Jones himself was in attendance for that fight. At the time, Jones was the reigning and defending UFC light heavyweight champion, and it was widely expected that he would fight Blachowicz for the belt. However, Jones decided to instead vacate his belt and announce that he was moving up to the UFC heavyweight division, instead. That left the belt vacant and Blachowicz won it when he knocked out Dominick Reyes last year at UFC 253.
Coach claims Jon Jones would prefer Jan Blachowicz over ‘Stylebender’ in potential return to 205: “Israel’s not the guy anymore”
Adam D Martin - August 10, 2021
Jon Jones’ coach says he would prefer Jan Blachowicz over ‘Stylebender’ in a potential return to 205, saying “Israel’s not the guy anymore.” Jones and the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya talked a lot of trash to each other over the last few years, and at one point in time, it seemed like a meeting between these two superstars was inevitable. However, with Jones moving up to the UFC heavyweight division, and with Adesanya losing to Blachowicz in his bid to become the promotion’s 205lbs champion, it appears as though there is not as much interest in this fight now. At least that’s what Jones’ coach Mike Winkeljohn claimed in a recent interview with Submission Radio, where the veteran striking coach explained what motivates Jones.
Aleksandar Rakic believes he matches up well stylistically with Jan Blachowicz: "It's going to be a very good fight"
Adam Martin - June 20, 2021
Aleksandar Rakic believes he matches up well stylistically with UFC 205lbs champ Jan Blachowicz, saying “it’s going to be a very good fight.” Rakic is coming off of a decision win over Thiago Santos at UFC 259, the same night that Blachowicz defeated Israel Adesanya to defend the UFC light heavyweight title. Blachowicz takes on No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira in his next title defense at UFC 266 in September, but Rakic and Jiri Prochazka are right behind Teixeira in the title picture, and Blachowicz is well aware that both of these young fighters are quickly moving up the ladder for his belt.
Jan Blachowicz says Jiri Prochazka should fight Aleksandar Rakic in No. 1 contender fight
Adam D Martin - June 18, 2021
UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz says that Jiri Prochazka should fight Aleksandar Rakic in No. 1 contender fight at 205lbs. Blachowicz takes on Glover Teixeira this fall at UFC 266 in his second light heavyweight title defense after getting the best of Israel Adesanya earlier this year at UFC 259. While we know that Teixeira is the next man in line to fight for the belt, after that, it’s hard to say who is next in line for the title. The smart money is on Prochazka, who has knocked out Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes in his first two UFC fights, but Rakic is 6-1 overall in the UFC and isn’t far back from the belt. Then there’s also Magomed Ankalaev, who is 6-1 overall in the Octagon, as well. Any of these three men could be a future Blachowicz foe.

Adam D Martin - June 3, 2021

The 38-year-old Blachowicz and the 41-year-old Teixeira will meet in September, with Blachowicz’s 205lbs belt on the line. Blachowicz is coming off of a big win over Israel Adesanya in his last outing that proved he’s an elite fighter in MMA, while Teixeira is still going strong even in his 40s, having won his last five fights in a row. Speaking to Submission Radio ahead of the fight, Blachowicz explained how excited he is for it.
Marvin Vettori: Israel Adesanya 'kind of quit' when taken down vs. Jan Blachowicz
Drake Riggs - May 12, 2021
Marvin Vettori is finally set to get his long-awaited rematch with Israel Adesanya. The current middleweight champion in Adesanya last fought at UFC 259 in March when challenging for the 205-pound title. Poland’s Jan Blachowicz would end up getting the better of his fellow champion by way of a unanimous decision on the night – doing so primarily by utilizing his grappling in the final rounds. Vettori wasn’t surprised to see this play out and is all the more confident going into his first career UFC title fight.

Prochazka knocked out former title challenger Dominick Reyes this past Saturday night in the main event of UFC Vegas 25. It was another incredible knockout win for Prochazka, who also finished Volkan Oezdemir with strikes to win his UFC debut last summer on Fight Island. Overall, the Czech Republic native is now riding a 12-fight win streak. He has been absolutely destroying everyone in his path at 205lbs and a title shot can’t be far away now.

Blachowicz defeated UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in his first title defense back at UFC 259 in March. Following the fight, UFC president Dana White made it clear that Teixeira would be next in line to fight for the belt. After Blachowicz requested six months off to rest and recover after the Adesanya fight, the promotion granted his wishes and he will return this fall when he takes on Teixeira for all the gold. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report this Blachowicz vs. Teixeira fight. The venue or location has not been determined, but it seems likely that fans will be in attendance for this fight either way.

Jan Blachowicz open to fighting Francis Ngannou at heavyweight

For his next fight, Blachowicz is expected to take on No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira. Having said that, Blachowicz is open to taking on another challenge if the UFC wants him to. Should Jon Jones not take the fight with Ngannou, then Blachowicz is open to taking it.
Jan Blachowicz knows he is better everywhere than Glover Teixeira, eyes heavyweight move after two or three more title defenses
Cole Shelton - March 18, 2021
Jan Blachowicz knows his next opponent will be Glover Teixeira. After Blachowicz beat Israel Adesanya at UFC 259 to defend his belt for the first time, he knew that Teixeira would be his next opponent. Jan Blachowicz says Jon Jones still needs to fight him, plans to knock him out
Cole Shelton - March 17, 2021
Jan Blachowicz says he and Jon Jones still have unfinished business. After Blachowicz knocked out Corey Anderson last year in New Mexico, Jones promised Blachowicz a fight. However, “Bones” couldn’t come to terms with the UFC and he vacated the light heavyweight title with eyes on a move to heavyweight. Since then, Blachowicz became the new 205lbs champ with a TKO win over Dominick Reyes and he defended his belt against Israel Adesanya.
Israel Adesanya says Jan Blachowicz beat him 48-47 at UFC 259
Adam D Martin - March 17, 2021
UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya says that UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz beat him fair and square at UFC 259. Adesanya lost a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards in a failed bid to become the new champ at 205lbs. The judges scored the fight 49-46, 49-45, and 49-45 in favor of Blachowicz, who successfully defended his light heavyweight belt for the first time. However, there was a lot of discussion about the scorecards afterward. Some thought that Adesanya deserved to get the nod, and UFC analyst Daniel Cormier was criticized for pushing the narrative that he was winning the first few rounds of the fight. Adesanya, however, doesn’t see it that way. Even though he’d love to be the 205lbs champ, he admits he lost the fight.
