UFC lightweight Jeremy Stephens, who has been in a Minnesota jail since his arrest early Friday morning, has had his bail set at $100,000 and faces a possible extradition to Iowa.

According to UFC president Dana White and Stephens’ management group, Evolution Agents, the fighter is wanted in Iowa in relation to a 2011 incident at a party in Polk County.

A statement from Evolution Agents yesterday claimed that:

Stephens was present at a party at which a “physical altercation” took place and asserting that Stephens had never been arrested in connection with the assault, contacted about any possible charge and or notified about any outstanding warrant by mail or any other means

UFC president Dana White worked diligently throughtout the day of UFC on FX 5 and on into the event, in order to secure Stephens release so that the lightweight could participate in his scheduled bout with Yves Edwards. Unfortunately for Dana and the fans, his attempts failed and Stephens was not released.
