Jeremy Stephens calls out The Korean Zombie!
It didn’t take long for “The Korean Zombie” to get called out. Just minutes after brutally knocking out Renato Moicano in the main event of Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 154 in Greenville, Chan Sung Jung was called out by fellow featherweight knockout artist Jeremy Stephens.
Here’s what Stephens had to say on Twitter:
I’ll take the @KoreanZombieMMA next! Let’s go @danawhite @seanshelby @ufc it’s the most exciting fight to make. Congrats on quick work, see ya soon! 👊🏽

“I’ll take the @KoreanZombieMMA next! Let’s go @danawhite @seanshelby @ufc it’s the most exciting fight to make. Congrats on quick work, see ya soon!”
In many ways this is a dream matchup for fans as both Jung and Stephens are heavy-handed punchers who have no problem standing toe-to-toe against their opponents in the center of the Octagon. Jung looked incredible against Moicano, needing just 58 seconds to finish his highly-touted opponent. Since returning to the UFC in 2017 after a mandatory military service stint in his native South Korea, Jung is 2-1 with brutal knockout wins over Moicano and Dennis Bermudez, plus a knockout loss to Yair Rodriguez in one of the best fights of all time. The UFC loves using him as a main event headliner for its Fight Night events because Jung is guaranteed action any time he steps into the cage, win or lose.
The same can be said of Stephens, who has been fighting in the UFC since 2007 but who is still fighting at a high level in 2019. Though Stephens is coming off of two straight losses to Zabit Magomedsharipov and Jose Aldo, he’s still one of the most dangerous and exciting fighters in the UFC featherweight division. Not many people will want to fight Jung after the way he knocked out Moicano because he’s not a high-ranked fighter despite how dangerous he is, so despite the losing skid there’s a good chance the UFC may consider giving Stephens this fight against Jung since it’s guaranteed action for the fans.
