Jim Miller vs. Pat Healy set for UFC 159 in New Jersey | UFC News
UFC officials recently announced that a lightweight fight between Jim Miller (22-4 MMA, 11-3 UFC) and Strikeforce import Pat Healy (29-16 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has been added to the UFC 159 event scheduled for April 27 in New Jersey.
Miller is coming off a “Fight of the year” candidate win over Joe Lauzon at UFC 155 this past December. The bloody and grueling fight at UFC 155 got Miller back in to the win column, this after suffering a loss to Nate Diaz at UFC on FOX 3 in May of 2012.
Meanwhile, after Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez was unable to participate in a rescheduled bout due to injury, Healy took on the unheralded Kurt Holobaugh and earned a unanimous-decision win. That victory marked Healy’s 6th straight win and earned him a spot on the already stacked UFC lightweight roster. at Strikforce’s final show.
UFC 159 is headlined by a light heavyweight title match between current champ Jon Jones and challenger Chael Sonnen. The event is scheduled to take place on April 27 live from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
