Jiri Prochazka has confirmed that he will rematch Glover Teixeira next. Jiri Prochazka (29-3 MMA) has 13 wins in a row. The latest win coming on June 12th of this year at UFC 275. It was Prochazka vs Teixeira (33-8 MMA) in the light heavyweight battle, and with Teixeira only 28 seconds away from retaining his UFC crown, he tapped to the rear-naked choke that Jiri Prochazka applied in their main event bout. Many are calling it the ‘fight of the year’.

Given the full conversation can not be heard, it was uncertain how it came together or what they were arguing over. Jiri Prochazka believes he made a key mistake against Glover Teixeira in their UFC 275 title fight. Prochazka and Teixeira had a back-and-forth war as both men had moments in the fight and they both nearly finished the fight. Late in the fifth round, Prochazka was able to get ahold of Teixeira’s back and eventually got the submission win with 28 seconds left to become the new champ.

Following UFC 275, there have been major changes in the UFC rankings this week. Jiri Prochazka (29-3 MMA) has made his debut on the UFC P4P rankings list, coming in at # 11. This of course follows his victory over Glover Teixeira (33-8 MMA) last Saturday night in Kallang, Singapore. It was in round five, with only 28 seconds left on the clock that Prochazka finished Teixeira via rear-naked choke, becoming the Czech Republic’s first ever UFC champion.

The Octagon returned to Singapore for tonight’s UFC 275 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Glover Teixeira vs. Jiri Procházka. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight resulted in what many fans and analysts are calling the “fight of the year”. Teixeira and Procházka went to absolute war for the better part of twenty-five minutes tonight at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Glover Teixeira found most of his success on the ground but also rocked Jiri Prochazka on multiple occasions in the standup. Not to be outdone, Jiri also landed a number of hard combinations and knees on the Brazilian veteran. After four rounds of action it appeared that Glover Teixeira was just five minutes away from hearing “and STILL”. However, despite having dominant positions in the final five minutes, Teixeira eventually gave up his back and Jiri forced him to tap with a choke.
