BREAKING! Joanna Jedrzejczyk announces next fight
Thursday morning, UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk took to social media to tease an announcement regarding her next title defense. Instantly, fight fans glued themselves to social media in anticipation of the champ’s big announcement.
It was then revealed by the champ on a stream that she would be fighting #3 ranked women’s strawweight Jessica Andrade at UFC 211 on May 13th at UFC 211. This bout was previously reported however the champ denied it until now.

Jedrzejczyk is of course stepping into the Octagon in hopes of defending her title for the fifth time since winning it in 2015 against Carla Esparza. In her most recent title defense, Jedrzejczyk defeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz in the co-main event of UFC 205 in a spectacular performance.
On the other side, Andrade will be stepping into the Octagon on a 3-fight win streak that saw her go undefeated throughout the course of 2016. After dropping a 2015 submission loss to Raquel Pennington, Andrade bounced back by picking up a 2nd round KO win over Jessica Penne at UFC 199 before picking up a 1st round submission at UFC 203. Most recently however, Andrade picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over Angela Hill in a Fight of the Night performance.
