Dana White posts video of Joanna Jedrzejczyk practicing nasty standing elbows ahead of UFC 205 title fight
Joanna Jedrzejczyk appears to be training hard for her upcoming title fight against fellow Polish woman’s MMA standout Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
UFC president Dana White posted a video of the woman’s 115-pound champion training Muay Thai and some nasty standing elbows ahead of her title fight with Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205 on November 12.
Take a look at Joanna’s training for yourself!
Jedrzejczyk moved to a perfect 12-0 after beating Claudia Gadelha in July. The young champ won the belt back at UFC 185, when she dismantled Carla Esparza and finished her with strikes in the second round.
Meanwhile, Kowalkiewicz most recently defeated Rose Namajunas in June, moving her to a perfect 10-0 record.
Dana White’s Instagram video of Joanna training ahead of UFC 205 shows the champion throwing some nasty standing elbows and knees. Jedrzejczyk is known for her potent striking, and if her most recent training video is any indication, she appears to be brushing up on her Muay Thai as she prepares for Karolina.
Kowalkiewicz is a perfect 3-0 in the UFC, and is more of a jack-of-all-trades than a striking specialist like Joanna.
UFC 205 takes place on November 12 for the promotion’s historic first-ever event in New York State, and more importantly in Madison Square Garden. The card will be headlined by a rematch title fight between Daniel Cormier and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson as well as lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez defending his belt against featherweight title holder Conor McGregor.
Who do you see winning between Joanna and Karolina? Will the champion retain her belt or will Kowalkiewicz walk away with UFC gold? Sound off, PENN Nation!
