Despite TKO victory over Valerie Letourneau, Joanne Calderwood says she is ‘broke as hell’
UFC veteran Joanne Calderwood says she is “broke as hell” even after defeating Valerie Letourneau at UFC Fight Night 89.
Calderwood was hoping that her third round TKO victory would give her the edge to take home a $50,000 UFC performance bonus but instead was outshined by others on the card.
Even after winning her fight, Calderwood posted a photo of herself with a dejected look with a hat that read, “BROKE AS HELL.” She said in the caption, “Gutted I didn’t get the bonus tonight but I’m not afraid to go home work and save so I can get back to @tristargym asap and hopefully be back in the octagon soon #wheretheresawilltheresaway #brokeashell #11-1.”
The salaries for the fighters that competed at UFC Fight Night 89 have not been released, but it was estimated by MMA Fighting that The Ultimate Fighter 20 veteran made roughly $26,500 for her fight, win bonus and Reebok pay.
