Dillon Danis takes issue with Sean Strickland’s criticism of Jon Anik: “Coming from the guy who cried and threatened murder”
Dillon Danis found it comical that Sean Strickland would have the gull to criticize UFC commentator Jon Anik.
Anik made headlines two days ago when he hinted at a career change, suggesting he was growing tired of the ever-toxic MMA space.
“I am growing tired of this MMA space a little bit, and just the morass of negativity when there is a close fight. Because even if you and I both thought Dricus Du Plessis won the fight (against Sean Strickland), we try to present that information respectfully. And when I go onto X or I go to our YouTube comments, it seems like a lot of these fans are just in attack mode. I don’t know how much time I have left in this MMA space.”
Jon Anik went on to say that he may “go do pro football”, suggesting his haters would be happy come 2026: “Honestly, at this point, I’ve had it.”
While many fighters rallied behind Anik, former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland took issue with Jon’s remarks.
“What I’d say to Jon Anik calling MMA fans ‘The lowest common denominator’. These people are why you have a paycheck, and you make way more than most… Maybe the NFL is a better choice for you than MMA…. Also, you guys are a bunch of savage c*nts.. I’m here for it….”
Strickland’s comments appeared to amuse former Bellator fighter Dillon Danis, who responded to Sean’s tweet with the following dig:

“Coming from the guy who cried and threatened murder because someone made fun of you. 😂”
Dillon Danis was of course referencing Sean Strickland blowing a top after Dricus Du Plessis claimed he would beat him worse than his father used to ahead of their title fight at UFC 297.
‘Tarzan’ ultimately attacked ‘DDP’ in the crowd at UFC 296 for his remarks and later threatened to ‘stab him‘ if the South African ever brought up his father again.
This isn’t the first time that ‘El Jefe’ has taken aim at Strickland. Following Sean’s title loss at UFC 297, Danis took to ‘X’ with the following:

Do you think Sean Strickland was being a hypocrite by calling out Jon Anik?
