Donald Cerrone responds to Daniel Cormier’s comments about Jon Jones
Recently, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, and former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones appeared alongside a slew of popular fighters at the 2017 UFC Summer Kickoff press conference. While the press conference was certainly a heated affair for the two men, footage emerged of the pair backstage before the press conference getting into a war of words which resulted in Cormier throwing his water bottle at Jones before security held the champ back.
During the press conference, Cormier appeared extremely comfortable on the mic, never shying away from a verbal showdown with his nemesis. With that being said however, many wondered if Cormier crossed the line when he called Jones a “junkie” during the press conference.
Jones’ teammate, Donald Cerrone had something to say about that in typical ‘Cowboy’ fashion.
He spoke to TMZ:
“I don’t know. He looks good. Yeah he’s training hard, he’s in the gym. F—k, I dunno. If Jon wants to do drugs and still kick ass, you go ahead baby. Do your thing.”
“He’s just trying to get Jon fired up. But a pissed off Jon is bad, man.”
Cerrone of course is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated UFC 213 showdown with Robbie Lawler, which has all the makings of a ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate.
In regards to that fight, Cerrone stated:
“It’s gonna be the fights of fights, man. We don’t even need to try to sell it, this is the fight. If you’re not a UFC fan, you will be after this one. If you are a UFC fan…f—k, this is the one you’ve been waiting on.”
“One of us is knocking the other’s head off, for damn sure.”
With Jones and Cormier officially set to scrap for a second time, who takes the rematch?
