Jon Jones fires back at Daniel Cormier over recent PED comments

Recently, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier put former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones on blast ahead of their July 29th rematch at UFC 214 for the undisputed light heavyweight title.

Ahead of the fight, Cormier made some controversial statements on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ as he proclaimed that he believes Jon Jones was forced to fight PED-free for the first time when he fought Ovince Saint Preux:

“I do believe that we will see a different fighter in Anaheim, because I do believe he has to be clean this time. Otherwise, he’ll be caught. And that’s why he got caught last time. I think he fought Ovince Saint Preux clean, and didn’t like the way he felt, and tried to do something again dirty, and got caught at UFC 200.”

Jones fired back on social media, saying:

“Imagine having so much power over a man that he thinks your abilities are supernatural,” Jones wrote. “The difference between you and I. I’ve punished the motherfuckers I thought were on steroids. You protect your pride with lies.”

Jones of course will be entering into the Octagon for the first time since his April of 2016 showdown with Ovince Saint Preux that saw him claim the interim light heavyweight title. Cormier on the other hand has been on a tear of the light heavyweight division since his loss to Jones, winning the title in his next fight before then going on a 3-fight win streak that most recently saw him defeat Anthony Johnson.
