Jon Jones goes on lengthy Twitter rant
UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones may currently be suspended by the NAC throughout the course of his appeal process, however Jones’ legal team caught quite the big break this week when it was announced that they were able to pinpoint the exact supplement Jones took which was tainted, resulting in the failure of a June out-of-competition drug test that saw Jones pulled from his headlining UFC 200 scrap just 48 hours before fight night.
Jones, who was set to have a rematch with Daniel Cormier, this time in a title unification fight, has maintained his innocence since it was announced that he failed a drug test back in July.
While things were initially quiet in regards to how Jones appeal process was going, UFC President Dana White announced last month that things were looking good for Jones, and that he could very well be in the Octagon sooner rather than later. This resulted in White even going as far as to look to book an interim light heavyweight title fight between Jones & top ranked light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson, with the winner getting a crack at Daniel Cormier, however ultimately Cormier & Johnson were booked for a fight in the main event of UFC 206 in November.
With news of Jones’ appeal process going extremely well, the former champ took to Twitter to go on a lengthy rant:
