MMA community reacts to Jon Jones’ B sample results
On Tuesday the results of Jon Jones’ B sample results were released.
The B sample tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol, which was the same result as his A sample. This is Jones’ second potential Anti-Doping Policy violation as he was suspended for one year in 2016 after testing positive for the banned substances clomiphene and letrozole. Jones was flagged for his second potential Anti-Doping Policy violation from his sample taken after the UFC 214 weigh-ins.
Jones knocked out Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 and won back the UFC light heavyweight title. However, the shocking news of Jones’ second potential Anti-Doping Policy violation came nearly a month after his UFC 214 fight took place, which could result in an extensive punishment.
Jon Jones will now go through the adjudication process with USADA and will also be dealing with the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) as UFC 214 took place in Anaheim, California.
With the results of the B sample also showing Turinabol in Jones’ system, the MMA community had a mixed bag of reactions.
They did a 30 for 30 on the greatest running back that never was, Marcus Dupree. @JonnyBones is going to go down as the fighter version. Sad https://t.co/89u0ytmYl7
