UFC superstar Jon Jones quoted NFL legend Vince Lombardi while reflecting on the one-year anniversary of his fight against Dominick Reyes. The day after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Jones used a quote from the legendary football coach Lombardi to discuss his feelings one year after the fight with Reyes. In what was one of the toughest fights Jones has ever had in the Octagon, he won a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards in a fight that many observers felt Reyes should have won. In the months following that fight, Jones announced he will move up to heavyweight. Fans and media are always debating who the greatest fighter of all time is, and all three of Jones, Nurmagomedov, and Adesanya are often at the top of their lists. Many consider Jones to be at the very top of the list because of his incredible UFC record in title fights. Bones is 14-0, 1 NC in UFC title fights, which far exceeds Nurmagomedov’s 4-0 record and Adesanya’s 4-0 record. All of those title defenses are one of the main arguments Jones backers make about his GOAT status. Nevertheless, there are many who think Nurmagomedov and Adesanya are better.

Werdum, who will take part in PFL’s upcoming third season, was the former UFC heavyweight champion, a title that Jones is hoping to soon win. In Werdum’s final fight in the UFC, he picked up a big upset win when he tapped out Jones’ former rival Alexander Gustafsson. Werdum then signed with PFL, where he hopes to win the $1-mllion dollar grand prize. While winning the PFL title is his current goal, he still has Jones on his mind for a future fight someday between the PFL and UFC champions.
