Speaking to The Mac Life during UFC 243 fight week, Israel Adesanya made a bold prediction, saying that he will fight current reigning light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in 2021 at the new Las Vegas Raiders Stadium. While he pointed out that Jones is a big future opponent, he made sure to note the upcoming middleweight contenders he plans to face as well.

Former Jackson-Wink striking coach Frank Lester wrote a scathing post on his social media ripping coach Mike Winkeljohn and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. In the post, Lester said that both Winkeljohn and Jones did him “dirtier” than anyone else ever has, and accused Jones of owing him $13,000 in payment for duties from his last title fight. Lester says he is no longer part of the team as a result.

Weidman recently spoke to Submission Radio, and was asked about potentially facing Jones. Weidman makes his light heavyweight debut against top contender Dominick Reyes in October at UFC Boston. If Weidman wins that fight, it’s possible the UFC could fast-track him to a title shot with Jones, and that’s the fight “The All-American” wants.

Chael Sonnen believes a third fight between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier is now out of the question. This past Saturday night (Aug. 17), Cormier and Stipe Miocic collided in a rematch for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 241. While Cormier knocked out Miocic back in July 2018, the Cleveland native got his revenge. Miocic stopped Cormier in the fourth round via TKO to reclaim the heavyweight gold. Miocic became just the second man to defeat Cormier in MMA competition.
