Jon Jones Hearing for Failed Drug Test Rescheduled
Adam Conklin - November 21, 2017
For what feels like the past decade, Jon Jones has been making headlines for basically everything in the world of MMA. From car accidents to drug tests and even a ‘successful’ return to former glory (albeit a brief return) Jones doesn’t seem to have to try hard to be the main topic of conversation. That conversation will be prolonged a bit more though as Jones’ upcoming hearing regarding a failed UFC 214 drug test has been moved to undetermined day in February of next year. The hearing was initially scheduled for December 12th according to a report by MMAFighting.
VIDEO | Colby Covington rips on Jon Jones: he needs to be exposed for the real person that he is
Russell Ess - November 13, 2017
Rising UFC welterweight Colby Covington has some real history with former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. According to Covington, the two MMA stars were college roommates from 2007-2009 at Iowa Central Community College where they both won junior college national wrestling titles together. Covington has a way with his words that has gotten him a lot of attention. Recently, Covington sent a harsh tweet to Jones, who wished Georges St-Pierre well in his return to the Octagon at UFC 217.
Joe Rogan shares crazy rumor about the cause of Jon Jones' failed drug test
Tom Taylor - November 7, 2017
Back in July, former UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones returned from a lengthy suspension to knock out Daniel Cormier and reclaim the title he once guarded so ferociously. Regrettably, just days later, it was announced that he had failed a pre-fight drug test. From there, his knockout win was promptly overturned, and the light heavyweight title was returned to Cormier. Since then, there has been ample discussion about the possibility that Jones consumed a banned substance inadvertently – perhaps by consuming a tainted supplement. On the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, UFC commentator Joe Rogan took this theory and stretched it to the absolute limit, essentially inferring that Jones used cocaine that was cut with Chinese creatine that was in turn laced with a USADA-prohibited substance…
Jon Jones Sends Georges St-Pierre a Message Before UFC 217
Justin Golightly - November 4, 2017
Georges St-Pierre didn’t owe us or the UFC anything, but that didn’t stop him from coming back. The former welterweight king walks back into the Octagon tonight to keep his legacy in contention and to attempt to capture a belt in a higher division he spent years on top of. No doubt it’s a huge fight between St-Pierre and Michael Bisping, so huge that Jon Jones couldn’t resist talking about it. From one greatest-of-all-time candidate to another, Jones sent out a message to St-Pierre ahead of his fight at UFC 217. Hey @GeorgesStPierre you’ve always been one of my biggest inspirations. Show the world how great you can be tonight. Praying for you
Jon Jones posts training clip, suggests it's time to "start again"
Tom Taylor - November 1, 2017
Jon Jones had a turbulent few years. Though he is, without debate, one of the most talented fighters to ever step into the cage, his career has been marred by substance abuse problems, brushes with the law, and most recently, a procession of failed drug tests. News of Jones’ latest failed drug test broke just days after his head-kick knockout win over his arch rival, Daniel Cormier. This test was administered the night before the fight. As a result of this failed test, Jones’ win was overturned, and the UFC light heavyweight strap was returned to Cormier.

Jon Jones Is Still in UFC's USADA Pool and Was Tested This Month
Justin Golightly - October 24, 2017
While we’ve got a couple of things splattered here and there for UFC 219, we’ve had nothing announced that screams “huge end of the year” card. If Jon Jones hadn’t of had his gut-punch anti-doping violation, we could have gotten a superfight to end all superfights with Jones challenging Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title potentially at UFC 218. But, just like the Rolling Stones song goes, you can’t always get what you want. The news here instead is that Jon Jones is still being tested. He just successfully passed a test earlier this month. USADA still testing Jon Jones, as case pends. Records show he was tested 4th quarter of 2017. I’m told it was 10/11, results were clean.
Heated Cain Velasquez goes off on Jon Jones
Tom Taylor - October 24, 2017
Shortly after Jon Jones knocked out Daniel Cormier to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight title, it was announced that he had failed a pre-fight drug test. As a result, his knockout win was overturned and the light heavyweight strap was returned to Cormier. While Cormier is once again the champ, and Jones is facing a potentially career-ending suspension, Cormier’s training partner Cain Velasquez is still pretty displeased with the way things shook out. The former heavyweight champ went off on Jon Jones during a recent media appearance in Seoul, South Korea.
Dana White Buries Jon Jones in a New Interview
Justin Golightly - October 17, 2017
After waiting for far too long to see Jon Jones back in action, he waltzed back into our lives, finished Daniel Cormier in dramatic fashion, now he’s right back out. We’ve been dealing with the ramifications from Jon Jones positive test the entire summer. Instead of most likely defending his title or fighting Brock Lesnar, he’ll be at a hearing in December to prove his innocence. Recently Dana White was asked about one of the greatest fighters ever having to sit out of competition once again. CSAC’s Andy Foster told me this weekend that the hearing for Jon Jones’ banned substance failure at UFC 214 is set for Dec. in Sacramento.

Jon Jones could potentially return to the octagon in 2018 if everything goes his way. “Bones” was stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title shortly following his knockout victory over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, this after he came back positive for banned substances in a drug test administered by USADA.

Don Frye Talks Jon Jones and USADA 'Catching Who They Want to Catch'
Justin Golightly - September 22, 2017
Things have been relatively quiet on the Jon Jones front ever since his B sample came back positive, aside from a few superfights that we have learned will pass us by. By now, his team are gearing up to defend themselves in a legal battle to prove Jon Jones was indeed innocent. From the very beginning, there was talks of sabotage or tainting. We’ve heard countless experts, media, and other fighters weigh-in on the Jon Jones controversy, but no one quite talks about it like the living legend Don Frye. “Well, I mean, [Jon Jones] did it to himself, unfortunately. Something got caught. And not everybody gets caught but a lot more people do it than don’t, I’m sure. And Jon’s the greatest fighter to enter the cage but he’s just got a black cloud hanging over his head. He’s he’s gotta be free of, you know, he’s treading water but he’s got a couple of anchors tied to his ankles and it keeps dragging him down.”
Daniel Cormier describes what he did with his UFC belts at home after losing to Jon Jones at UFC 214
Russell Ess - September 18, 2017
If you saw Daniel Cormier in the Octagon after he fought and lost to Jon Jones at UFC 214, you know just how much the loss meant to him. Cormier remained fairly quiet in the days immediately after the fight and was just getting over the fact that he was knocked out and finished for the first in his professional MMA career. Things took another wild turn a few weeks after UFC 214 as the news of Jones’ latest potential Anti-Doping Policy violation surfaced.
VIDEO | Daniel Cormier comments on if he still wants another fight with Jon Jones
Russell Ess - September 18, 2017
Just when we thought the saga between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones had come to an end, there was another twist thrown into the mix. Following the outcome of their UFC 214 UFC light heavyweight title fight where Jones became the first opponent to KO and finish Cormier, Jones was flagged for the second time by USADA for a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation. Both Jones’ A and B samples tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol and the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) overturned Jones’ win to a no-contest. With that, Cormier said that UFC President Dana White told him that he would also be reinstated as the UFC light heavyweight champion.
Daniel Cormier Shares His Conflicted Feelings as a Reinstated Champion
Justin Golightly - September 16, 2017
After losing his title to Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier was unfortunately dragged through another situation involving his opponent being flagged for an anti-doping violation. The title was removed from his waist, placed on Jones’, now it’s been taken away and given right back. When he became champion by beating Anthony Johnson, some fans didn’t accept Cormier as the true champion. Now, Cormier finds himself back in the same predicament. On the record books, it’s like the fight never happened. However, that doesn’t change the fact that it happened for Daniel Cormier. “The people around me, my friends, they tell me that nothing has changed because if [Jon Jones] was not fighting completely clean, then there was no fight. But I was there. I fought. In my mind, I lost a competition, but if it was an unfair competition — I shouldn’t have been in it. It’s a hard question. I guess I do feel like the champion, because I know I was the champion before all this happened. I don’t know. It’s a difficult question to ask someone like me. My manager, my wife, my coaches — it’s easy for them to answer. For me, it’s a tough question.”
Jon Jones' Coach Hints at a Huge Lawsuit if He Popped From Tainted Supplements
Justin Golightly - September 14, 2017
All the test results are in. Two urine tests and a blood test. The UFC has moved forward in stripping Jon Jones of the title, now Daniel Cormier has been given the belt once again due to a situation involving Jones having the title taken away. To this day, Jon Jones is still claiming innocence and most likely a legal battle will follow. Coach Mike Winkeljohn spoke to Submission Radio about what could happen if this all turns out to be because of a tainted supplement or an substance not listed in the ingredients like last time. “Oh, I would [sue]. I mean, we’re talking about changing a man’s life. I mean, how much money can he make? How much is his career worth? Is it worth $100 million? I mean, that’s gonna’ bankrupt a company. I would be the first one to say, hey look, here’s the deal, if you guys are in the supplement industry and you have a tendency to put anabolics and these different substances into products just so that the kids go, ‘Yeah, this stuff works,’ and then the FDA coming along and says, ‘Hey, you put that in that in there,’ you either have a tendency to pull it out real fast and so people won’t do it anymore, but you’ve already sold the product and they keep selling it and they open up another product or they file bankruptcy and do it again. Supplement companies are notorious for it if you go back and start reading some papers on them, and it’s not right. This is not right when they do those type of things just to sell products.”
Jon Jones makes first comment on social media regarding steroids after testing positive for Turinabol
Russell Ess - September 14, 2017
Jon Jones has not said a lot on social media ever since he tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol. Jones was recently stripped of the UFC light heavyweight title as the results of his B sample also confirmed the same result as his A sample. Daniel Cormier has stated that UFC President Dana White told him that he would be reinstated as the champion as the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) overturned the result of their fight to a no-contest. The CSAC sanctioned the UFC 214 card, which took place in Anaheim on July 29.
