Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has found a great deal of success as a mixed martial arts fighter and could go down as the best to ever do it. At 28-years-old, Jones is still in the prime of his career and has many fights left in him that will stamp his place in history. Interestingly, the 6’4″ athletic specimen says he wasn’t the high school jock that everyone wanted to be friends with, according to an interview he did with Rolling Stone. Instead, Jon found himself in the shadows of his two brothers that eventually went on to become stars in the NFL.

Jon Jones has undoubtably battled his demons in his personal life as he overcame addiction to make his return to the Octagon at UFC 197 on April 23rd. UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones has had his share of legal troubles, however he feels that the recent traffic stop which landed him in jail for 3 days was unnecessary. Jones was ultimately released from jail and ordered to complete anger management courses, as well as driver awareness classes. In addition, Jones must now get permission from his probation officer before driving anywhere.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (21-1 MMA) will return to the octagon for the first time in over a year when he squares off with Ovince Saint Preux (19-7 MMA) in the main event of UFC 197 for the promotions interim light heavyweight title. “OSP” has gone 3-1 in his past four octagon appearances. His most recent effort saw him score a unanimous decision victory over former Strikeforce champ Rafael Cavalcante at February’s UFC Fight Night 82 event. Prior to that, Saint Preux was submitted in the third-round by Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 73. “OSP” also holds first-round knockout victories over “Shogun” Rua and Patrick Cummins.

For a brief period, there was fear that Jon Jones recent traffic incident would force him out of his UFC 197 light heavyweight title fight with Daniel Cormier on April 23rd. Thursday morning however, Jones appeared in front of a judge, who ordered him to attend anger management training, driver improvement courses, and get permission from his probation officer before getting behind the wheel of a car.
