UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Jon Jones are set to rematch in the Octagon at UFC 214 on July 29 in Anaheim, California.
The two rivals first met at UFC 182 back in 2015 when Jones was the champion. Cormier came in as an undefeated challenger and after the end of the five-round fight, Jones was awarded a judge’s unanimous decision.
The always creative and captivating Boss Logic just released a new poster design for the rematch between Cormier and Jones.
Boss Logic tweeted his design and said in the caption, “#UFC214 @dc_mma vs @JonnyBones the rematch we have all been waiting for, well I have anyways :D”

Jon Jones will be coming off a one-year suspension after testing positive for the banned substances clomiphene and letrozole. Jones and Cormier were set to rematch at UFC 200 in July of last year but the fight fell apart just days before the event as USADA flagged Jones for the violation. Interestingly, Jones has had just one fight since he beat Cormier in 2015, winning a five-round unanimous decision over Ovince St. Preux atUFC 197 in an interim title fight. Although Jones won, many believed Jones did not look as dominant as he once was.
Daniel Cormier is coming off a second round rear-naked choke submission win over Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, which took place at UFC 210 in April. Cormier will look to defend his belt and further establish himself as one of the greats with a win over Jones and avenge his only professional MMA loss.
How do you see the rematch between UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Jon Jones going? Will ring rust be a factor in the matchup for Jones being out for over a year? Will Daniel Cormier’s age of 38-years-old be a factor against the younger Jones who will be 30 at the time of the fight? Let’s get your opinions in the comment section!
