Jorge Masvidal is a sizeable betting favorite to defeat Nate Diaz in their boxing match on June 1.

It was announced on Wednesday that Diaz and Masvidal would box on June 1 at 175lbs at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The event will be carried on pay-per-view by Fanmio for $79.99, with an early price of $49.99 available until April 12.

In the announcement of the boxing fight, Jorge Masvidal had full confidence he would go out and beat Nate Diaz again. Of course, the two fought back at UFC 244 in November of 2019 and it was Masvidal who won by doctor stoppage.

“Nate’s a dead man walking,” Jorge Masvidal said in a statement about Nate Diaz. “I can’t wait to prove that last time was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got no shot at beating me. I’m not going to give him an inch in that ring to even breathe. If he thought our MMA match was bad, this is going to be much worse. I’m going to drown him. I want to put away any talk that him and I are the same, or that the referee saved the day. All of that talk ends June 1. Violence and throwing hands are in both of our bloods but as I proved before, I’m a far superior athlete and I’m a meaner fighter. When June 1 comes I’ll put all unanswered questions to rest, live for the world to see.”

Now, following the fight being announced, odds have been released for the bout that sees Jorge Masvidal as the sizeable betting favorite to defeat Nate Diaz.

Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz boxing odds:

Jorge Masvidal -375
Nate Diaz +275

If you like Jorge Masvidal you need to bet $375 to win $100, but if you like Nate Diaz as the underdog, a $100 bet would net you $275 if he pulls off the upset.

Jorge Masvidal has not fought since he suffered a decision loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 last April as he announced his retirement after the loss. It was his fourth straight defeat as Masvidal’s last win was over Diaz. This will also be his pro boxing debut.

Nate Diaz, meanwhile, made his pro boxing debut back in August when he lost a decision to Jake Paul. Before that, he submitted Tony Ferguson which was the final fight of his UFC deal.
