Team Jorge Masvidal responds to Nick Diaz

Thomas Taylor - November 11, 2019

During a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Nick Diaz seemingly opened the door to a future fight with Jorge Masvidal. While he also claimed he has no interest in fighting again, he added that he took issue with some of Masvidal’s recent comments to his brother Nate, and hinted that he’d be willing to fight Masvidal inside AT&T Stadium for the right price. “All I see is f*cking dollar signs right now,” Diaz said of Masvidal (via MMA News). “It’s not on me. You wanna talk about baptizing my younger brother, that’s on you. I never had nothing disrespectful to say, but you don’t talk about baptizing my younger brother. So you’re already in a f*cked up position if you fight with me. You don’t f*cking talk about baptizing someone’s younger brother. That’s my baby brother, you don’t talk like that to nobody. So who rides on who’s side?

Nick Diaz warns Jorge Masvidal for comments toward Nate

Thomas Taylor - November 11, 2019

Nick Diaz claims he has no interest in fighting again. He made that feeling quite clear during a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. That being said, he does seem to have a bone to pick with Jorge Masvidal, who recently defeated his younger brother Nate, and implied that he’d be willing to battle the Cuban-American at AT&T Stadium if the price is right. In particular, the elder Diaz bro took issue with Masvidal claiming he would “baptize” Nate.

The Rock responds to Nate Diaz's remarks after UFC 244

Tom Taylor - November 11, 2019

Jorge Masvidal was victorious in the UFC 244 main event, which meant that he, not his vanquished opponent Nate Diaz, was awarded the BMF title by pro wrestling legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Diaz, who came up short after the cage-side doctor deemed him unfit to continue fighting due to a laceration on his brow, was not particularly pleased with the way things unfolded, and even took a shot at The Rock post-fight.

Opinion: BMF title must die, but its brilliant concept should live on in the UFC

Jordy McElroy - November 7, 2019

Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz didn’t really solve who the “baddest motherf**ker” on the planet was at UFC 244, but on a historic night built around a fictitious championship, they inexplicably, somehow solved the UFC’s pay-per-view problem. Not all bad motherf**kers wear capes, but that doesn’t make them any less of a hero.

Firas Zahabi believes Conor McGregor would have a 'tremendously difficult time' with Jorge Masvidal

Cole Shelton - November 6, 2019

Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor have both been open to fighting each other in the future. Yet, TriStar head coach, Firas Zahabi believes that it is a very dangerous fight for the Irishman and a fight he would likely lose. Why he thinks Masvidal would beat McGregor is simple. He believes Masvidal’s size would be the difference and the former two-weight champion would need to connect early. If he doesn’t, the coach believes it would be a long night for McGregor.

Coach: 'We'd see the same thing' in Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz rematch

Mike Heck - November 6, 2019

Jorge Masvidal was masterful in the main event of UFC 244 against Nate Diaz and the BMF champion’s head coach Mike Brown believes that a rematch wouldn’t go much differently. “Gamebred” defeated the gritty and tough Diaz via third-round TKO due to the cage side doctor stopping the fight after a huge cut was opened above the right eye of Diaz. Many were disappointed in the ending of the highly anticipated welterweight showdown at MSG, but Masvidal was clearly ahead on the judges’ scorecards and certainly didn’t seem to be slowing down.

The two met earlier this year at UFC London, with Masvidal knocking Till out in devastating fashion. That KO win led Masvidal to get a huge fight against Ben Askren at UFC 239, which he won by flying knee knockout in five seconds. The win turned him into a superstar. Till, meanwhile, decided to move up to middleweight after the loss to Masvidal and a series of rough weight cuts.

UFC 244 doctor responds to controversial main event stoppage, receiving threats

Mike Heck - November 4, 2019

In the aftermath of the UFC 244 main event, it would seem that you would want to be anyone else besides the doctor who called a stop to Saturday’s BMF Title fight. Dr. Nitin K. Sethi, a New York-based neurologist, was the cage side physician called into the Octagon after the third round of the bout between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening. Diaz had suffered a pair of cuts around his right eye, including a highly visible one above the eye. Sethi and Diaz conversed with the fighter saying, as expected, that he was OK. Sethi would then head over to referee Dan Miragliotta and made the decision to stop the fight, which lead to a third-round TKO win for Masvidal.

What's next for Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz after UFC 244?

Cole Shelton - November 4, 2019

Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz were looking to win the “BMF” title in the main event of UFC 244. The fight also could prove who deserves the next title shot at welterweight, so the stakes were high. In the end, it was Masvidal who got the job done due to a doctor stoppage at the end of the third round. It was a dominating performance for “Gamebred” who was up 30-26 on two of three judge’s scorecards. Yet, many thought the cut above Diaz’s eye that stopped the fight was not that bad, and after the fight, both said they have interest in running it back.

Nate Diaz says Mike Tyson should have handed out BMF title, not The Rock

Natasha Hooper - November 3, 2019

To honor the new and unprecedented ‘BMF’ fight at UFC 244, megastar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was there to fill in for Dana White and hand over the belt. However, the main event contender, Nate Diaz, was less than impressed with the decision and threatened to ‘whoop the a**’ of the Hollywood and WWE celebrity. The ‘BMF’ bout between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz ended anti-climatically as the doctor stopped the contest in the third round due to cuts above the right eye of Nate Diaz. By this point Masvidal had maintained a dominant position and ultimately claimed the TKO win.

UFC president Dana White shared a picture of Nate Diaz after receiving stitches following the cuts inflicted by Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC 244. Diaz was cut above and below his right eye, leading to the cage-side doctor to controversially calling an end to the BMF title fight at UFC 244. The cuts didn’t look to be fight ending for those watching on television, but as you can see from the picture below, Diaz suffered quite a bit of damage during the fight. Although he disagreed with the stoppage at the time, following the event White said the doctor made the right call.
