Jorge Masvidal goes off on "f**king coward" Neil Magny, Magny issues scathing response
Tom Taylor - May 8, 2018
When Gunnar Nelson was forced out of his UFC Liverpool co-main event showdown with Neil Magny, sixth-ranked UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal offered to step in and replace him. He only asked that this short-notice bout with Magny be contested at a 180-pound catchweight, as he wouldn’t be able to make the welterweight division’s 170-pound limit in time for the card. Regrettably, it seems as though this fight won’t be happening. Masvidal gave his side of things on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.
Jorge Masvidal and Neil Magny get heated over potential short-notice bout
Tom Taylor - May 3, 2018
When Gunnar Nelson was forced out of his UFC Liverpool co-main event showdown with Neil Magny, sixth-ranked UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal offered to step in and replace him. He only asked that this short-notice bout with Magny be contested at a 180-pound catchweight, as he wouldn’t be able to make the welterweight division’s 170-pound limit in time for the card. “My manager told me about [Nelson’s withdrawal,] and he was like ‘hey man, here’s your chance to smash Magny,’ cause he knows I don’t like Magny one bit,” Masvidal told BJPenn.com’s Jason Kindschy on Tuesday. “So he offered it to me, and he was like ‘what do you think?’ We’ll make it at a catchweight, cause I’m a little heavier right now.”

Report | Jorge Masvidal is keen to step in against Neil Magny at UFC Liverpool
Tom Taylor - May 1, 2018
Late last week, the UFC’s upcoming debut in Liverpool, England lost its compelling welterweight co-main event, as Iceland’s Gunnar Nelson was forced out of his fight with Neil Magny with an injury. “Unfortunately I have to withdraw from my fight against Neil Magny on May 27th in Liverpool,” Nelson said in a Facebook post shortly after this regrettable news broke. “Last weekend I injured my knee. I will undergo an operation right away and I’ll be out for 8-10 weeks. I’m sorry to my family, my opponent, my teammates, the fans and the UFC. This is a huge blow to me and I’m at a loss for words to describe the disappointment I am feeling. I was really feeling up for this fight, the training camp was going great and everything was just perfect until this happened. When all is said and done this is the fight business and injuries are sometimes an unfortunate part of it given the physical rigors us athletes put our bodies through. I will keep on evolving as a fighter while I’m on the sidelines and I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

EXCLUSIVE | Jorge Masvidal makes prediction for Colby Covington's battle with RDA, trip to Brazil
Tom Taylor - March 30, 2018
On May 12, streaking UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington is expected to head south to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to battle former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 224. This setting of this fight is particularly interesting as Covington recently alienated the entire country of Brazil by calling it “a dump” and referring to its people as “filthy animals.”

Jorge Masvidal goes off on "little jealous b*tch" Kamaru Usman
Tom Taylor - March 21, 2018
Yesterday evening, UFC welterweight contenders Kamaru Usman and Darren Till engaged in a heated back-and-forth on Twitter. Shortly thereafter, Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz involved several other top welterweights with a followup Tweet – including Jorge Masvidal, who didn’t take kindly to what was being said. Here’s how it all went down.
VIDEO | Jorge Masvidal Gives Props to Darren Till But Tells Him UFC Liverpool is Too Soon
Justin Golightly - March 19, 2018
When Darren Till got announced as the headliner for UFC Liverpool, patient fans finally had a reason to celebrate. Till would finally return after his destruction of tough-as-they-come Donald Cerrone at UFC Gdansk back in October of last year. Unfortunately, we can’t get too stoked though, he still doesn’t have an opponent. On the long list sits Jorge Masvidal, who’d love to fight Till, but he just can’t make it to the Scouser’s backyard that fast. “[Darren] Till. I’d love that fight, man. I think the dude is talented. He’s young, he hungry, he stepped up to the plate when he fought Cowboy [Cerrone]. I got nothing but respect for that dude. His performances before that — again, the kid’s good — but when he had his toughest fight, he came, he showed up, he did what he had to do.”
Is UFC Liverpool's Headliner Darren Till the Un-Fightable Man?
Justin Golightly - March 17, 2018
The UFC’s big announcement yesterday was that Darren Till would finally be fighting again. Not only would they make up for the downtime between his devastating finish of Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC Gdansk, but they’d put him as the main event for the UFC’s first trip to his hometown. Against who though? Well, that’s the problem. Till called out Stephen ‘Wonderboy” Thompson once again, but his hand may or may not be healed by then. Till then moved on to Jorge Masvidal today, but Masvidal can’t make it as early as May 27th. I just spoke to former UFC welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson who informed me that the UFC has NOT reached out to him about fighting Darren Till at UFC Liverpool in May. #UFCLiverpool https://t.co/2VWAy4gxoR
Michael Bisping explains why he'll no longer be arguing with "trash from Florida" Jorge Masvidal
Tom Taylor - December 27, 2017
Over the years, former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping has swapped trash talk with many of his peers. One of the latest fighters he’s engaged with is current UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. Recently, however, Bisping made an effort to end this beef, after a heated exchanged on Instagram.
Jorge Masvidal Shares His Direct Messages with 'Hoe Ass' Michael Bisping
Justin Golightly - December 19, 2017
Jorge Masvidal hasn’t been quiet about wanting to ‘slap up’ Michael Bisping. The two have been in multiple confrontations together, mostly stemming from Bisping’s mind games aimed at Masvidal’s teammate Yoel Romero, which included ripping up a Cuban flag. He even offered to fight the former UFC middleweight champion at UFC Shanghai, if Kelvin Gastelum couldn’t make it. Lately though, things have been quiet. However, that’s only because the talk has transpired in private. Well, until now. Masvidal just posted his DMs with Bisping trying to get a fight. Jorge Masvidal: “Hey hoe ass Michael Bisping, quit talking sh-t to me when the UFC team and staff and act like a man. Let this 155-pound end your racist ass, you punk b-tch. You rip my flag and spit on Latin fighter’s corners. Damn right you won’t get in there with me. You know I’m going to hurt you and keep hurting you. Not going to knock you out quick, hell no, I’ll punish your ass for disrespect you bring. Just sing pussy, don’t run your mouth or from the fight. You had your chance to talk like men in private and you chose to make a scene in front of fans and UFC staff. You’re such a hoe.”
VIDEO | Jorge Masvidal Willing to Step Up to Fight Michael Bisping at UFC Shanghai Just in Case
Justin Golightly - November 18, 2017
Jorge Masvidal does not like Michael Bisping. Like, at all. It’s not just the trash talk that gets under Masvidal’s skin, whatever bad feelings he may have had toward the former UFC middleweight champion were magnified tenfold after Bisping desecrated the Cuban flag cageside. Combined with his friendship with Yoel Romero, this makes any situation volatile, as we saw when the two nearly came to blows recently. It’s all those reasons why Masvidal is willing to fight Bisping as a replacement if somehow Kelvin Gastelum can’t make it. “I think if Kelvin Gastelum doesn’t make weight, I’ll step right in. That’s what I like to do. I like to fight, so if that happens, if you know, I’m going to be praying that Gastelum eats too much dessert or something. I think [Michael] Bisping will win. Even though I don’t like him too much as a person, I think Bisping will win. Me personally, I just don’t like Bisping because we’ve had problems in real life, I just don’t like. If I could fight him in the Whole Foods parking lot I would. Any Aussie super market. I would fight that guy for a parking spot, that’s how much I don’t like him.” — Jorge Masvidal speaking at the UFC Sydney Q & A.
VIDEO | Mystic Masvidal Warned Colby Covington About Fabricio Werdum Confrontation
Justin Golightly - November 17, 2017
Unless you’re living under an MMA rock, you should know by now that Fabricio Werdum hit Colby Covington in the face with a boomerang while in Sydney, Australia promoting the UFC card that goes down this weekend. Covington went on Instagram live right as it ended and went off on the heavyweight fighter for attacking him and has since pressed charges. With some sort of fighter beef sixth sense, his teammate Jorge Masvidal warned Covington that a confrontation might happen. “I don’t know. It’s been fun. I think [Colby Covington]’s having fun too. You know, he’s making the best out of it as always. He’s crazy, man. Nah, [he’s not going too far]. Colby’s, Colby. That’s my partner. He’s going to do whatever he wants. He’s not going to definitely listen to me. He’s crazy, man. I actually told him though, right before he left because he was scheduled to do some interviews with the UFC. And I told him, I go, ‘You should watch out. If [Fabrico Werdum] said that, he probably would try to do something to you, put his hands on you.’ It’s crazy that it happened shortly after. You know, this was like 20 minutes before that happened. I told him, I was like, ‘Hey, be ready just in case something happens.'”
Jorge Masvidal is Already Planning a 'Viral' Post-Fight Victory Speech
Justin Golightly - November 3, 2017
Promising not to be the rusty coin sitting in the embarrassment of riches that is UFC 217, a wild scrap between Jorge Masvidal and Stephen Thompson rests just below the three title fights. On any normal fight card, this is a main event. On any other big pay-per-view, it could be a co-main event. Despite a Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos bout set to crown the next challenger to Tyron Woodley’s welterweight strap, this fight between Masvidal and Wonderboy has huge title implications. This is something Masvidal is knows and has a plan already set in place if he gets his hand raised. “I see myself breaking his face. I’ll be number one. After this fight, I’ll fight for the belt, especially after the post-fight speech I’m going to give. I haven’t prepared anything yet, but I’ll […] do something really disgusting, something ugly, and scare people. It’ll go viral. I still don’t know what it’s going to be, though. Colby [Covington] gave people a demonstration of insanity. I’m going to do something different, the way I usually do.”
VIDEO | Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal get into it backstage again
Russell Ess - November 3, 2017
If you saw UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal and their exchanges backstage leading up to UFC 217, you would think that the two were meeting in the Octagon on Saturday night. However, this isn’t the case as Bisping is set to take on former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in the main event of the evening while Masvidal will look to establish himself as one of the next welterweight title contenders as he meets Stephen Thompson in the Octagon.
