Jose Aldo eyeing superfight with Dominick Cruz
While Jose Aldo’s next fight will likely be a title unification fight with Conor McGregor after McGregor has his UFC 202 rematch with Nate Diaz in August, the interim featherweight champion appears to be eyeing a fight with bantamweight kingpin Dominick Cruz.
Cruz spoke recently in an interview, where he explained that if McGregor is sidelined for an extended period of time following his fight with Diaz, he would be open to making the jump to 145 in an attempt to hold two titles at the same time.
Aldo spoke to Daily Star:
“I think it’s great that Dominick is saying that. It’s a new phase we’re going through,” the interim 145-pound title said.
“Conor did that, so everybody is trying to mirror him. I like that.
“I hope it happens, that this fight can happen in the future. But first, I need to become the undisputed champion.
“After that, we can challenged everyone and shoot at everyone because that helps your career and the financial side of it.”
