Report: Josh Samman found unresponsive, in critical condition

Tragic news surfaced Friday afternoon that UFC middleweight Josh Samman had been found unresponsive in a South Floridan apartment along with another man, who was pronounced dead.

While details are extremely scarce at the present time, a Reddit user broke the news via the MMA section of Reddit:

“A friend of mine called me this morning and told me a old co-worker of his was found dead in a south Florida apartment and josh samman was found un responsive with him. He said josh is still in the hospital in critical condition.”

Following that, FloCombat reporter Jim Edwards confirmed that Samman is indeed in the hospital and fighting for his life, stating:

“Josh is in a bad way in hospital right now, alive to my knowledge, but in a bad way.”

The MMA community was quick to begin pouring out support for Samman via social media, although details are reportedly being kept scarce intentionally.

Samman is currently in the midst of a 2-fight skid inside the Octagon. After his girlfriend passed away in 2013, Samman returned to the Octagon at UFC 181 on December 6th, his girlfriend’s birthday, where he knocked out Eddie Gordon in spectacular fashion. Following that, Samman defeated Caio Magalhaes via submission in July of 2015. Unfortunately, following the win over Magalhaes, Samman dropped back to back losses to Tamdan McCrory and Tim Boetsch.
