UFC brass reportedly “unclear” on Ronda Rousey’s future
Earlier this month, when Amanda Nunes defeated Miesha Tate to claim the UFC women’s bantamweight championship, it was revealed that Ronda Rousey could receive an immediate title shot against the newly crowed champ.
While there was no word on whether or not Rousey would take the offer, news has now surfaced that the UFC is unsure of whether or not Rousey will come back.
Following her UFC 193 KO loss to Holly Holm, the former champ took an indefinite hiatus in order to film movies in Hollywood. While UFC President Dana White has insisted that Rousey will return to the Octagon later this year, there are no official plans for Rowdy’s return.
During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, #5 ranked women’s bantamweight Julianna Pena spoke about a potential fight with Rousey, which she has been asking for:
“No, everybody is still waiting on Honda. So we’ll see.”
When pressed if that was the official line from the UFC brass, she added: “Yeah, they’re still unclear if she’s coming back.”
