UFC stars explain what they’re thankful for on Thanksgiving

By Tom Taylor - November 25, 2016

Yesterday, as anybody whose stomach is still full of turkey knows, was thanksgiving in the United States of America. Over the course of this November Holiday, many of the UFC’s top fighters – including several current champions – took to Twitter to explain what they’re thankful for.

Fighters like UFC strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk, lightweight veteran Joe Lauzon, and welterweight contender Kamaru Usman said they were thankful for their family, friends and fans.

Former UFC heavyweight champion and current heavyweight contender Junior Dos Santos explained that he’s thankful for the newest arrival to his family, showing off the belly of his very pregnant wife. Congrats, JDS!

Like Jedrzejczyk, Lauzon and Usman, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic explained that he’s thankful for his family. He also explained that he’s thankful he’s a heavyweight. The heavyweight division’s weight limit, after all, is a whopping 265 pounds, which allows heavyweight fighters to eat a little more without worrying about ballooning right out of their weight class. That means more turkey for Mr. Miocic!

Undefeated welterweight prospect Mike Perry, finally, used thanksgiving as an opportunity to continue his ongoing Twitter beef with upcoming opponent Alan Jouban. The two fighters will meet at UFC on Fox 22 this December 17 in Sacramento, California.

Needless to say, UFC fighters seem to be very grateful for their success, and the family, friends and fans that support them as they chase their dreams. Here at BJPenn.com, we’re thankful for all the fighters that step into the cage for our entertainment. What are you thankful for this thanksgiving? Sound off in the comments section, PENN Nation!
