Justin Gathje will coach Season 26 of the Ultimate Fighter opposite former lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez
Former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion Justin Gaethje made his highly anticipated UFC debut earlier this month in Las Vegas where he scored a second-round TKO victory over perennial contender Michael Johnson in what many fans are deeming “fight of the year”.
The undefeated lightweight contender, Gaethje (18-0 MMA), will now turn his talents to Season 26 of The Ultimate Fighter where he will coach opposite former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (28-5 MMA).
UFC President Dana White confirmed the news to Luke Thomas earlier today.
Dana White tells me it's confirmed: Justin Gaethje and Eddie Alvarez are TUF 26 coaches. Shot first episode already.

Former UFC lightweight title holder Eddie Alvarez was last seen in action at May’s UFC 211 event in Dallas where he squared off with Dustin Poirier.
Unfortunately for fight fans, the scrap between Alvarez and Poirier was stopped and ruled a no-contest after Eddie landed illegal knees to the head of “The Diamond”.
“The Ultimate Fighter Season 26” will feature the debut of women’s flyweights to the UFC. The show’s finale will then crown the promotions inaugural women’s flyweight champ.
