The world of MMA has seen top fighters use their success to help others. Lightweight contender Justin Gaethje is helping students by paying off their lunch debts at two Denver schools. Sharing is caring, as “The Highlight” inked a cheque last week to pay for $1,538 worth of lunch debts accrued at West Early College High School and Middle School.

Dana White recently made headlines when he suggested that a win for Conor McGregor over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 could lead to a rematch between ‘Mystic Mac’ and Khabib Nurmagomedov. In order for that rematch to happen, the UFC President says that Khabib Nurmagomedov would also have to defeat Tony Ferguson at April’s UFC 249 event in Brooklyn.

UFC lightweight contender Justin Gaethje criticized UFC president Dana White for suggesting Conor McGregor could get a title shot rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov if he gets by Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, calling the news a “crock of s***.” White told BT Sport on Wednesday that if McGregor beats Cerrone at UFC 246 and Nurmagomedov defends his belt against Tony Ferguson at UFC 248 that the promotion could potentially book a rematch between “Notorious” and “The Eagle.”

Gaethje was gunning for the fight with McGregor himself, but ultimately the Irishman chose Cerrone as his next opponent.

With reports of a lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov being booked for April 2020 and other lightweight fights being announced recently, top contender Justin Gaethje is without a scheduled fight, and he seems to be okay with that. Business has picked up in a major way in the UFC’s lightweight division with the recent bookings of Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone (scheduled to take place at welterweight) and Paul Felder vs Dan Hooker, both fights scheduled to take place in early 2020, but these fights also leave contenders like Gaethje waiting in the wings. While his former opponent Dustin Poirier believes Gaethje is the biggest threat to current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Gaethje recently discussed his place within the division.

After months of speculation, it was announced this week that “The Notorious” would be back in action at UFC 246 on January 18th, 2020 to face Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Yesterday, Conor McGregor’s Octagon return was finally confirmed. The Irishman will make his comeback against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246. This left many fighters’ pondering their next fight options, including McGregor’s former opponent, Dustin Poirier. McGregor hasn’t fought since his UFC 229 bout in October 2018, when he challenged the lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irishman tried to neutralize the grappling expertise of his Russian opponent but was ultimately submitted in the fourth round via neck crank.

On Thursday, former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor laid out plans for a comeback, starting on January 18. While McGregor didn’t specify an opponent for his next fight, ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani subsequently clarified that Donald Cerrone is the most likely option for the Irishman’s next fight, while Justin Gaethje is also a possibility. Gaethje has caught wind of this news, and doesn’t seem happy that he’s the second priority after Cerrone. He did, after all, beat Cerrone just a few weeks ago.
