UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman listed two potential opponents for his next title defense following his recent victory at UFC 268. Usman defeated rival Colby Covington via unanimous decision in a hard-fought fight that headlined this past Saturday’s UFC 268 event. For Usman, it was yet another incredible performance by the champ inside the Octagon. Since joining the UFC in 2015, Usman is a perfect 15-0 and he is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. It is getting to the point where he is either first or second in all major welterweight division records, and at this point the only fighter ahead of him in the division’s history is Georges St-Pierre.

MMA analyst Chael Sonnen shared a bold prediction about UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, suggesting he will retire sooner than later. Usman just defeated his archrival, Colby Covington, for the second time when he won a hard-fought unanimous decision over him at UFC 268 this past Saturday night in New York City. For Usman, the win over Covington improved his UFC record to 15-0. He is currently first or second in nearly all of the welterweight division’s all-time records, right behind UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre. Even though he hasn’t caught GSP in terms of title defenses yet, UFC president Dana White recently admitted that Usman has surpassed GSP in his eyes in terms of being the greatest fighter of all time in the welterweight division.

UFC president Dana White praised Kamaru Usman following his UFC 268 win, saying that “I think he’s the greatest welterweight of all time.” Usman defeated archrival Colby Covington via unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 268 this past Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was a phenomenal fight by both men, but particularly by Usman, who once again showed Covington that he’s the best welterweight in the world. By beating his rival for a second time, Usman improved to a perfect 15-0 in the UFC. He either holds or is chasing most of the key records in the UFC welterweight division occupied by former longtime champion Georges St-Pierre. But if you ask White, even if Usman still has a ways to go to catch GSP in terms of title defenses and overall wins, White thinks Usman has surpassed him.

Kamaru Usman open to Colby Covington trilogy down the road

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman says he is open to a Colby Covington trilogy fight down the road if his rival works his way back up. Usman defeated Covington via unanimous decision in the main event of this past Saturday’s UFC 268 pay-per-view card. Just like their first meeting at UFC 245 in December 2019, which came down to the wire before a late stoppage in the fifth round. the rematch was a close fight, with Usman edging out a tight decision on the judges’ scorecards. It was an excellent matchup and even though he lost, Covington showed once again that he is the second-best welterweight in the division. It just so happens that Usman is the best fighter in the weight class and he has now beaten Covington twice.

On Saturday night, both Usman and Alvarez competed in their respective sports. Usman defeated Covington via unanimous decision, while Alvarez defeated Caleb Plant via knockout. It’s only natural, then, that Usman will continue to chase this matchup against Alvarez, especially since both fighters just fought and don’t have their next match booked.

UFC welterweight Nate Diaz threw shade at UFC 268’s main event headliners Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington following last night’s PPV card. Diaz was watching Saturday’s UFC 268 card along with the rest of the MMA community. In the main event, it was Usman who defended the UFC welterweight championship with a unanimous decision over Covington. It was a razor-close fight, but Usman did more damage in the early rounds and it ended up giving him the victory at the end of the five rounds.
