Report: Claudia Gadelha vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz strawweight bout in the works
Earlier this month, recent strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz made a smart callout of another recent title challenger in Brazil’s Claudia Gadelha. According to our own Chris Taylor, the Polish fighter could well get her wish.

Though we know this bout is in the works for sometime in the spring, an exact date and location has not been confirmed. That said, UFC 211, which we just recently learned will include a strawweight title fight between champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk and challenger Jessica Andrade, seems like a logical choice.
When we last saw Karolina Kowalkiewicz in action, she surrendered a decision to Joanna Jedrzejczyk in one of the three title fights on the UFC 205 bill. While she failed to steal the title from the champ, however, she did manage to drop her in the latter half of the fight.
Prior to this loss to Jedrzejczyk, Kowalkiewicz was a perfect 10-0 as a pro. Her three most recent wins occurred in the UFC’s Octagon, where she defeated game opposition in Randa Markos, Heather Jo Clark, and Rose Namajunas, all by decision.
Gadelha, meanwhile, was last seen in the Octagon in mid November when she scored a lopsided decision win over Cortney Casey. Prior to this win, she too came up short in a title fight with Jedrzejczyk, though she put up a very good fight, winning the early portions of the bout, and even dropping the champ in the early going.
Before this loss to Jedrzejczyk, Gadelha scored a nice win over former World Series of Fighting champ Jessica Aguilar. This win, meanwhile, was proceeded by another loss to Jedrzejczyk, this time in a non-title fight.
