Frustrated Khabib Nurmagomedov: Take me out of the “stupid” rankings

While Khabib Nurmagomedov may be ranked as the #1 contender at lightweight on the UFC’s official rankings, the undefeated Dagestani fighter has yet to have an official date set for a title fight with UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

Nurmagomedov, who is coming off a successful outing in his return fight to the Octagon earlier this year against Darrell Horcher, has been campaigning for a fight with Eddie Alvarez, who has continued to say Nurmagomedov isn’t worthy.

In a rather lengthy Instagram post, Nurmagomdov reflected on his MMA career, and the current state of the UFC’s lightweight division, stating that rankings really don’t matter.

Но я ни о чем не жалею, Всевышний дал мне намного больше чем я просил, и я продолжу идти хоть я и попал в последнее время в ситуацию, которая мне непонятна и я на самом деле не могу понять как действовать в этой ситуации, да я согласен с тем что я в последнее время реже выступаю из за моих травм, но как щас быть? если они тебя ставят на #1 место рейтинга, в добавок все эксперты, тренера, журналисты, аналитики и сами бойцы в один голос говорят что я заслуживаю боя за пояс, но руководство #ufc все молчит и молчит, а зачем тогда делать вообще рейтинги, уберите тогда меня с этих глупых и никчёмных рейтингов, зачем вообще их создавать, если вы их в счёт не берёте. Я не хочу принижать чьи то заслуги я знаю что есть пару бойцов также кто заслуживает это, но будьте добры давайте начнём это все по очереди,как говориться первый пошёл, и второй следом за ним. #встаньтевочередь #ufcнетяни #определитесьужеufc 2008, beginning of my professional career. I couldn't image myself as number one ranked fighter in the world at that time, and didn't expect that such tough and long career are ahead of me, career that will be coming along with injuries and surgeries. But I never regret of anything, God gave me more than I asked, and I'll keep walking my way, despite of situation I'm in. Situation that not understandable for me, and I don't know how to act. Yes, I agree that I fight rarely because of my injuries, but what should I do? I'm ranked #1, all experts, coaches, media, analytics and fighters stating that I deserve title fight, but UFC keep silence. Why do we need rankings than? Take me of that stupid and unworthy rankings. Rankings that doesn't work as they should. I don't want underestimate any other fighters, there are few other guys who deserves fight for title…but be so kind please and stay in line…#stayinline #ufcanswer #makeyourdecisionufc
