British striking legend Liam “Hitman” Harrison has never been one to mince words, and he’s got plenty to say about ONE 170.

One bout in particular that Harrison is paying attention to is the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title clash between #2-ranked contender Nico Carrillo and #5-ranked Nabil Anane. That goes down this Friday, 24 January, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Impact Arena.

Upon inspection, the British brawler predicts Carrillo will capture the gold this Friday, believing the Scotsman’s power will be too much for Anane to handle.

“I see no way that Nabil wins this fight. He’s not been in the 145-pound division long enough to handle Nico’s power. He will have never been hit as hard as he’s about to get hit,” Harrison said.

“His best wins have come at 135 pounds. Granted, he’s moved up and beat a legend like Muangthai [PK Saenchai] and beat Felipe Lobo at 145 pounds, but none of these guys can hit the way Nico does.”

Liam Harrison believes ONE 170 is too much too soon for Nabil Anane

Former ONE World Title challenger Liam Harrison has experienced the highs and lows of world-class competition. He has won many accolades throughout his career, so he’s a good voice of reason for ONE 170.

That said, he believes that Nabil Anane’s opportunity has come much too soon. However, he commends the Thai-Algerian for stepping up to the plate. In the future, Harrison thinks the 6-foot-4 striker could hold gold.

“If he somehow manages to stand up to Nico’s attacks, fair play to him. But I do not see how he can handle it. I don’t see how he’ll cope,” Harrison said.

“I do want to make it clear that in another year or two when Nabil has more experience and grows into his body a bit, when he has more man strength, I think he’ll be a big problem in that division. I just think it’s a little bit too soon for him.”
