The victory was Manel Kape’s fourth in a row in the octagon, previously defeating names such as Ode’ Osbourne. Following that win last year, he was scheduled for a rematch with Matheus Nicolau, this Saturday at UFC Vegas 84.

UFC Vegas 84 has taken a major hit as the co-main event between Manel Kape and Matheus Nicolau is off the card. Kape missed weight on Friday morning, hitting the scale at 129.5lbs. Originally, it was reported that the fight would continue as Kape was fined 25 percent of his purse. However, shortly thereafter, MMAJunkie reporter Nolan King reported the fight is now off. At this time, it’s uncertain what caused the fight to be scratched after Nicolau had accepted 25% of Kape’s purse.

Over the course of the last few months, Manel Kape has been making some noise in the UFC. After having a string of fights canceled for a parade of reasons, he was scheduled to take on Kai Kara-France at UFC 293. Unfortunately, Kara-France was unable to proceed with the contest, meaning he went up against Felipe dos Santos instead in a Fight of the Night bout.

Then, at UFC 293, he defeated Felipe dos Santos in what proved to be one hell of a fight.
