UFC heavyweight Marcin Tybura says his "big dream” is to rematch Derrick Lewis

UFC heavyweight Marcin Tybura has his eyes set on a rematch with Derrick Lewis following his recent winning streak. The Polish star has certainly had a rollercoaster ride of a stint with the Ultimate Fighting Championship ever since he made his debut back in May 2016. Now, however, after three consecutive wins including a unanimous decision victory over Ben Rothwell this past weekend, Tybura wants to exact some revenge on the aforementioned “Black Beast”.

A heavyweight bout between Ben Rothwell and Marcin Tybura took place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Fight Island event in Abu Dhabi. Rothwell (38-12 MMA) entered the contest having gone 2-2 since returning to the UFC in March of 2019. With that said, ‘Big Ben’ was sporting a two-fight winning streak, his latest being a split decision win over Ovince Saint Preux this past May.

UFC Hamburg results: Marcin Tybura defeats Stefan Struve (highlights)

Midway through the UFC Hamburg main card, heavyweight veteran Stefan Struve collided with Polish contender Marcin Tybura. After a measured start to the first round, Tybura completed a single leg takedown with apparent ease. From there, the Polish heavyweight spent several minutes in top position, landing some nice shots to Struve’s body and head, while staying out of danger in his foe’s wiry guard. Eventually, however, referee Marc Goddard stood the contest up. After a brief period on the feet, during which Struve landed some nice low kicks, Tybura closed out the round with a deftly timed double-leg takedown.
Derrick Lewis, Marcin Tybura to Meet at UFC Fight Night 126

A battle between two heavyweights on virtually equal footing has been reported for UFC Fight Night 126 in Austin, Texas. As reported by MMAJunkie, the fight is targeted for February 18th and joins Ray Borg vs. Brandon Moreno as the only other fight reported thus far.
UFC Fight Night 121 Results: Fabricio Werdum defeats Marcin Tybura

A heavyweight scrap between former division champion Fabricio Werdum and Marcin Tybura served as the main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 121 fight card in Sydney. Round one begins and Tybura and Werdum exchange low kicks early. Marcin steps in with a left hand. Werdum counters with a left of his own followed by a head kick which is blocked. Werdum presses forward with a flurry. Tybura avoids and circles out. Werdum lands a nice uppercut followed by a right hand. He attempts a head kick but Marcin is able to block the strike. Tybura is covering up well but not getting off much. He lands a low kick followed by a shot to the body of Werdum. Fabricio steps in with a knee. He misses with a front kick. Tybura with a nice overhand right. Werdum replies with a straight right. Fabricio shoots in for a takedown. He doesn’t get it but is able to take the back of Tybura while standing. Werdum works in some knees. He looks to score a trip takedown. He can’t get it. Werdum loses the position and round one comes to an end.

The two men involved in Saturday night’s main event took part in the traditional open media workouts on Thursday. Both Fabricio Werdum (22-7-1) and Marcin Tybura (16-2) will fight in what could place on these fighters in line for a title shot with an impressive performance in Sydney.
UFC 209 Results: Marcin Tybura TKO's Luis Henrique (Highlights)

A scrap between Marcin Tybura and Luis Henrique served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC 209 prelims in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Marcin presses forward with a front kick to the body. Luis circles and then charges forward in search of a takedown. He presses Tybura against the cage and begins working some uppercuts. Marcin returns fire with a knee. Henrique continues to press Tybura against the cage. After a stall in the action, referee Herb Dean steps in to separate the big men. Marcin lands a hard kick following the break. Luis shoots in a presses Tybura against the cage. Marcin is able to switch the position and then score a takedown. He immediately begins raining down some shot on Henrique. Marcin moves to half guard and works some short shots. Henrique is doing his best to get back up but eats some big shots for his efforts. Luis eventually gets back to standing and then quickly scores a trip takedown on Tybura. Marcin is able to get back to his feet very quickly and round one comes to an end.
